‘Critters Attack!” On Home Video This July

After thirty years, the Critters franchise has brand new installment headed your way on Blu-ray and DVD this summer. Directed by Bobby Miller (The Cleanse) and written by Scott Lobdell (Happy Death Day), the movie is inspired by the franchise that was released in the 80s and 90s, Critters Attack! follows Drea (Tashiana Washington) who reluctantly takes a babysitting job for a professor at the college she wants to attend. Struggling to keep the kids, Trissy (Ava Preston) and Jake (Jack Fulton), and her little brother Phillip (Jaedon Noel) entertained, she takes them on a hike, unaware that mysterious alien critters have crash-landed and started eating every living creature they come across. Scream Queen Dee Wallace (Cujo), who starred in the original Critters as Helen Brown, is back, this time as the mysterious Aunt Dee. While being hunted by the ravenous critters, Drea and the kids encounter an adorable, seemingly harmless critter named Bianca, an exiled royal fleeing her own

Blu-ray Review: The 27 Club (2019)

Music man Quinn Scott (Travis Grant) goes and joins the 27 Club (you know, the exclusive collective of rock n’ rollers that have done the whole croakin’ bag on their big two seven)…well, to be honest; it isn’t entirely up to him, as a dagger toothed demon emerges from a magic-ass mirror and drags him to Satan knows where…as is so often the case. That brings us to Jason (Derrick Denicola) who is doing the whole documentary bit on the ol’ 27 Club. As he investigates the demise of the mighty Quinn, he discovers one of those arcane tomes the youngsters are so bananas for these days…which of course he swipes with the quickness. Well, that beastly book can do the whole demon summoning dealio (and said supernatural creatures can grant wealth and fame…with a catch of course), and Quinn’s band-mates will do anything to possess that artifact like it’s some sort of preternatural Klondike bar! Look, The 27 Club

He also revealed that the trailer will soon arrive. As you now may have heard we finally received our R Rating. This was a very long process and threw us a couple months behind schedule. It’s a drag to be sure, but that the way it goes.” “Anyway that is the reason you haven’t seen a trailer yet. Movie Review: Scary Stories (2019)

To be honest, I was too old for Alvin Schwartz’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series of books, but I was well aware of their existence thanks in no small part to the eye catching, nightmare enduing artwork contained within the tomes (courtesy of Stephen Gammell), but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t into a devious doc detailing the series creation and what it has meant to generations of fright fans n’ horror hounds! First thing you have to realize is that Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was the most banned book of the 1990’s…and if that doesn’t give that shit unlimited horror biz street cred, I have no idea what would! Of course, that tumultuous moment is detailed in Cody Meirick’s documentary, but there is so much more ground that is covered! We get the genesis of the series creation (featuring interviews with Schwartz’s widow among other peers and family members) that paint a vivid picture

Writer-director Lee Cronin takes us on a dark, paranoia-filled journey in The Hole in the Ground, starring Seána Kerslake (TV’s “Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope). Kerslake stars as Sarah, a mother moving into a new home with her young son, Chris (James Quinn Markey). As Sarah makes her way to the new house she nearly hits an old woman in the road. As she passes she notices the woman’s haggard appearance but shakes off the experience, which is the first in a series of terrifying events. It’s not long after they move in that Chris runs off into the woods behind their home. As Sarah gives chase she stumbles upon a huge sinkhole. When she looks up she sees her son at the edge. When they return home the old woman stops her and tells her that the boy is not her son. This is where things begin to go poorly for the family. Sarah is in for the fight of
