Whatever Happened To The Winchester Mystery House?

Whatever Happened To The Winchester Mystery House?

Sinister, eerie, and menacing, there’s only one place that comes to mind: the notorious Winchester Mystery House of San Jose. With a reputation for being one of California’s most unusual haunted houses, this ghostly residence is an architectural masterpiece and historic landmark worth seeing—that is if you have the guts. Touring the grounds of the Winchester Mystery House is like playing live Roulette; the stakes are pretty high. But this wasn’t always a haunted house. In fact, it once had promises of being the forever home of the Winchester family. However, not every story has a happily ever after. The Origins of the Winchester Mystery House It all began when firearms magnate William Wirt Winchester died in 1881. The tycoon was the son of Winchester Repeating Arms founder Oliver Winchester. Upon passing away, Winchester gave a considerable inheritance to his wife, Sarah. She relocated from her New Haven, Connecticut, family home to a modest, eight-room farmhouse in San Jose, California.

One of the most highly anticipated upcoming horror movies is Universal Monsters’ Renfield, starring Nicolas Cage as Dracula. Today, we’ve got your first glimpse of Cage, via People, in a red suit, sporting slicked-backed black hair, and a lot of bling, looking a bit like Christopher Lee in his iconic role as the blood-sucker in Hammer Films. Nicolas Cage will bear his fangs as the legendary Count Dracula, in the movie that is based on an original idea by “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman. Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) is directing the movie, with Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies, Mad Max: Fury Road) playing the title role of Renfield, Dracula’s henchman. The henchman finds a new lease on life and maybe even redemption when he falls for the feisty, no-nonsense

Don Coscarelli Wants A ‘Phantasm’ Game

After the success of the Friday The 13th game and the growing hype for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Evil Dead games, it’s clear that the “Make cult films into video games” genre has found its market. Due to the sudden popularity, yesterday on Twitter, Don Coscarelli, the creative mind that brought us the 1979 cult film Phantasm has tweeted (see below) interest in the film to be made into a video game. The first film spawned four sequels and all follow characters thwarting the plans of the infamous Tall Man (Angus Scrimm), a mortician that turns the dead into zombie slaves who wields flying metal spheres that impale or drill in the heads of victims. Fingers crossed that a studio takes Coscarelli up on his offer and slides into his DMs! The most common question I get about PHANTASM is….. WHEN WILL THERE BE A VIDEO GAME? What better time than NOW. To all my friends in the
