“Man is the only animal that kills for fun,” A look into Christopher Denham’s “Preservation”

A camping trip goes awry as newlyweds Mike and Wit are suddenly joined by Mike’s brother, Sean, a former marine, in the psychological horror-thrill ride “Preservation.” They awake from their first night on the trip to find that everything has been stolen from their campsite. A weekend in the woods suddenly becomes a game of survival for the three. The film is littered with classic horror stereotypes which makes it a particularly fun watch, especially for horror fans! For me, the movie fell short in the realm of reality, and what “traditional hunters” actually do on a hunting trip. A great example of this is when the group arrives at their hunting spot and realize it is closed. To quote the characters, “That’s never stopped our family before,” and they enter anyways. With that said, the common horror movie stereotype-stupidity of these three is what makes this film a great horror film. The “closed” sign is the typical warning in

A Review of Zack Parker’s “Proxy”

Let me start off by saying “Proxy” is not your standard horror film, however, it is an extremely violent, disturbing thriller, that leads horror viewers into a new subgenera of horror films. I warn ALL viewers that this film is EXTREMELY violent, some of this violence is present in the first 5 minutes of the film, before the main title even pops up on screen. “Proxy” centers around the life of 3 individuals who have all suffered a loss, in one way or another. There are a lot of new faces in this film, however there is one very familiar face to horror fans, Kristina Klebe, better known as Rob Zombie’s Lynda in his version of “Halloween.” The films main star Alexia Rasmussen (Esther Woodhouse) does a great job at playing a typical loner, who when asked who her best friend is, she states, “her fish.” The film is a little artsy, but absolutely beautiful. The film opens with a

The Urban Legend surrounding “The Rake” began in the summer of 2003. Supposedly, a human-like creature’s image was caught on trail camera and sparked interest in the local media. Little to no information remains after a blackout was enacted. Now the only information left is the online accounts of the mysterious creature, mainly recounted on the Creepypasta site.

Casting will soon begin for ‘We Are Still Here‘, director Ted Geoghegan’s new film, ‘Satanic Panic’. The film’s screenplay was penned by Grady Hendrix, author of the best selling novel ‘Horrorstor’. ‘Satanic Panic’ centers on a minimum-wage delivery girl, forced into a night-long battle with the affluent leaders of a suburban community after discovering they are part of a cult. The director had this to say about his upcoming film: “Equal parts supernatural horror and survival thriller, the film hinges on smart, funny dialogue and a clever, surprisingly badass female hero.” Geoghegan continued “A snarky, splattery takedown of the 1%, it places a trod-upon heroine up against the literally soulless societal upper crust.”
