McNeely Reviews ‘Guns Akimbo’ Starring Daniel Radcliffe

Meet Miles, (Daniel Radcliffe) a game programmer who spends way too much time trolling the fans of Skizm, a life or death game that has taken the world by storm. Miles bullies the wrong person and ends up waking up with guns bolted to the palms of his hands. But it gets worse, the guy he pissed off runs Skizm and he’s sent his best player after Miles, the psycho killer Nix (Samara Weaving). And the shit hits the fan! There are so many great things about Guns Akimbo. The nearly constant action is more than enough to make your head explode. The acting is top-notch. Director Jason Lei Howden has created a hardcore action flick that will leave you cheering. When I first heard that Radcliffe was set to star in action flick I was a bit surprised. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been a fan since his Harry Potter days, but Radcliffe has never played a part like

Movie Review: Guns Akimbo (2019)

Miles (Daniel Radcliffe), is a real nerds nerd… a trolling mother fucker of a game designer, who loves nothing more than pissing off the fanatics of “Skizm”, a deathmatch club streamed live online. As one would guess, Miles luck in the ball bustin’ game only lasts so long, and he pisses off the wrong motherfucker and winds up with guns surgically added to his hands in a manner most crude, which makes him a perfect candidate to participate in Skizm whether he wants to or not. Sounds like a total shit show… but it’s going to get a ‘titch worse as our hero soon finds himself in a life and death struggle with Skizm’s best, the violence crazed maniac Nix (Samara Weaving). Akinbo ensues… and carnage. Mostly the latter. the first thing you may notice about Guns akimbo is that the film’s writer/director Jason Lei Howden (Deathgasm) has infused the comic book style proceedings with enough panache and flair to

Movie Review: Bloody Marie (2019)

Marie (Susanne Wolff) has seriously hit the skids; her once successful comic career is up in flames due to her creative spark being extinguished and now she lives a completely drunken existence among the whores of Amsterdam’s Red Light District. As you can imagine, her life is one conflict after another as she starts shit in every liquor store and dive in town, and before long she takes to stealing from her neighbor. One problem with that, this causes a horrific spiral that our fucked-up heroine may not be able to survive! Look, we’ve all seen the “drunk in over their head in the horror biz” trope before, and in that Bloody Marie doesn’t seek to reinvent the wicked wheel… but that’s not to say this flick doesn’t have plenty of great shit (trust me, that’s a pro film critic term) to offer us! Rather than focus on how dreadfully depressing Marie’s life has become, the focus remain firmly focused
