Movie Review: Occupation (2018)

Occupation begins with Reagan’s famous speech about the world’s differences being set aside and all mankind uniting if faced with an alien threat (also a large part of the plot of ’80’s comic book masterpiece Watchmen)…which is put to the test as a disparate band of residents of a small Australian town go about their daily lives until they are faced with just that…an invasion from beyond the stars that begins as they all enjoy a carnival where a football match…game…I don’t know, maybe it even isn’t football…I know jack shit-all about sports, and I’m sure the participants ability to kick a ball in no way foreshadows anything to come as the story plays out. Any way, a right unruly lot of armor clad star-borne bastards begin shooting up the carnival with their “pew-pew” lasers six ways to Sunday (in a spectacular action set piece). As the days (and months) progress our normal folk must rise up and become heroes

Aliens Invade In Action-Packed ‘Occupation’ Trailer

The new trailer for director Luke Sparke’s Australian-produced, sci-fi film Occupation is here. The action-packed trailer features ‘Storms’, a track from Powderfinger’s lead guitarist and songwriter, Darren Middleton. “After their small Australian country town is annihilated by an overwhelming airborne attack, a group of civilians evade capture and discover they are now among the last remaining survivors of an extraterrestrial invasion engulfing the entire planet. As humanity falls under worldwide occupation, they form a home-grown army to fight back against vastly superior enemy forces. On the frontlines of the battle for Earth, they are our last hope.” The stellar ensemble cast of local and international talent includes Dan Ewing (Red Billabong), Temuera Morrison (Star Wars), Stephany Jacobsen (Revenge), Rhiannon Fish (The 100), Jacqueline McKenzie (The Water Diviner), and Bruce Spence (Star Wars, Mad Max 2). Production wrapped on the Gold Coast in late 2017, which involved local crew and a supporting cast of more than 300 people. The alien invasion

TV Series Review: War of the Worlds: The Complete Series is a Fun Series Filled With Gore and Action!

Picking up thirty years after George Pal’s 1953 adaptation of H.G. Well’s classic novel War of the Worlds, the television incarnation tells the story of the resurrection of the alien invaders from Mars (retconned to Mor-Tax in this version) from their state of suspended animation (rumors of their death had apparently been highly exaggerated). Once back in action the aliens begin a plot to make Earth more like their home world…and fast as a veritable shit load of their friends are scheduled to arrive on our lil’ blue marble within five years time. Unfortunately for us, the aliens can now inhabit human bodies in order to travel among us undetected. To fight this unearthly menace, the government assembles a highly trained task force led by Dr. Harrison Blackwood (played by Jared Martin, whom fright flick fans may recognize from the Fulci death sport film The New Gladiators), an astrophysicist who’s parents were killed in the original 1953 invasion. Also along
