“American Psycho” & “Saw” Series Headed To A TV Near You

The horror genre is more popular than ever, and it’s taking over TV (not that we’re complaining). Series like “Chucky,” Amazon’s “Them,” Hulu’s “Into the Dark,” and a host of new series and adaptations are ruling streaming services. Now, a series adaptation of the genre classic American Psycho is on the menu. During a conversation with Deadline earlier this week Lionsgate chairman Kevin Beggs discussed some of the shows in the works from Lionsgate TV, including an “American Psycho” series and possibly a show set in the Saw universe. American Psycho is in development,” Beggs reveals. “We’re always exploring what we can do in television with something like the Saw franchise, so that’s a conversation.” Deadline journalist Nelli Andreeva comments, “Beggs would not elaborate further, but I hear that Lionsgate TV is in early talks on a TV series adaptation of the book of Saw, from Mark Burg and Oren Koules’ Twisted Television. “The Saw film franchise, one of the

Opinion: The Rise Of Super Hero Horror?

After the trailer for the upcoming horror film Brightburn is still lingering in people’s minds and the growing anticipation of The New Mutants release, there’s something that can’t be ignored. In the current age of Superhero movies, these two are unique as they’re clearly horror films told in their own unique ways. The New Mutants, based on the comic series of the same name follows five young individuals who are being kept in a secret facility where they begin to learn that they have the “X-Gene”. While trying to understand their situation, the mutants experience terrifying visions that involve their past. The New Mutants is the first in a trilogy where as the next two films will feature mutants Karma and Warlock, and yes these films will be horror as well. Brightburn, on the other hand, is a unique take on the “Superman” story where in this universe, the humanoid extraterrestrial with superpowers is actually evil. As armchair experts try

The Duo Behind American Psycho Have Reunited For ‘The Family’ The Manson Family Story

Mary Harron and Guinevere Turner, the duo behind the horror classic American Psycho, are once again teaming up for The Family, a unique approach to the Charles Manson story. The tale of the Manson family has fascinated people for years. Countless books and films have focused on Charles Manson, whose name is synonymous with evil, and his cult followers referred to as “The Family”. Harron and Turner’s film will be told from the point of view of Karlene Faith, a writer who interviewed several members of the Manson family. Faith’s real life book, The Long Prison Journey of Leslie von Houten: Life Beyond the Cult, served as source material for the film, along with Ed Sanders’ 1971 novel The Family. The Manson Family sprang up in the 1960s. Manson led the cult and preached lessons on the Armageddon, conspiracy and Scientology. The cult’s members, who lived in a commune on the Spahn ranch, are believed to have carried out as

FX And Lionsgate Are Bringing ‘American Psycho’ To TV

FX and Lionsgate are looking to capitalize on the horror show trend by adapting ‘American Psycho’ for a new series. The new series is already being written by Ed Pressman, who will also be serving as the show’s executive producer. Ed Pressman and Allison Shearmu are both listed as producers. Christian Bale played Patrick Bateman, the main character of the 2000 horror movie ‘American Psycho’, about a man who is delusional and can only be labeled as having a serious case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and a love for murder. The series will be a little a different from the movie. It will follow the character of Patrick Bateman, in his 50’s. Bateman has trained a protege, who has become his equal. I will say this, I’m really looking forward to ‘American Psycho’ the series. If Lionsgate and FX could only get Christian Bale to return to play one of his most iconic roles, I would be truly ecstatic! I
