Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough… Mandy from the film of the same name) is an assassin with a twist, namely that she works for an organization that utilizes brain implants to inhabit the bodies of people close to her assigned target which makes the killing a tad easier than it would be otherwise. Things go along swimmingly… or as swimmingly as you’d expect, but shit goes majorly sideways with the quickness when our heroine gets the job of putting a murder on tech bigwig, and serious douche, John Parse (Sean Bean), and inhabits the mind of one Colin Tate (Christopher Abbott)… a dude that is both in a relationship with John’s daughter Ava (Tuppence Middleton), and is more resilient to implantation process than most. Fans got a sneak peek at USA’s upcoming thriller series The Sinner, based on the German crime novel by Petra Hammesfahr, at the Tribeca Film Festival from acclaimed director Antonio Campos. Starring Jessica Biel, Christopher Abbott, and Bill Pullman, the 8-episode series centers on a young mother who is “overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage and commits a startling act of violence. The event launches an inverted and utterly surprising crime thriller whose driving force is not the “who” or the “what” – but the “why.” Soon the investigator finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman’s buried motive.
