Shauna MacDonald And Oded Fehr Star In ‘White Chamber’

Set in the United Kingdom in the near future, a civil war rages, and martial law has been declared by a military government hellbent on squashing the opposition in White Chamber. A woman (Scottish BAFTA nominee Shauna MacDonald, The Descent) wakes up in a blindingly white cuboid cell, where General Zakarian (The Mummy’s Oded Fehr) uses increasingly sophisticated and cruel methods to torture her for information – information she claims not to have. As questions of trust are placed both on captor and captive, they find themselves embroiled in an increasingly spiraling journey into the nature of authority. Amrita Acharia, Sharon Maughan, Nicholas Farrell, Candis Nergaard, and Adrianna Edwards also star in this thrilling film from writer-director Paul Raschid (Unhallowed Ground). White Chamber opens in select theaters and arrives on VOD on March 29, 2019, from Dark Sky Films.

Movie Review: Mega Time Squad (2018)

Small time hood John (Anton Tennet) is having a shit run of luck; his (crime) boss Shelton (Jonny Brugh) treats him like turd, and he has to vacate the garage he lives in…and mostly everyone he encounters thinks he’s a bit of a nutless wonder. Aiming to prove them wrong, John and his dim pal Gaz (Arlo Gibson) set out to swipe a bundle o’ cash from a gang of Chinese hoods muscling into Shelton’s territory from the antique shop they use as a drop off. In the process he steals a magic time travelling bracelet (as one does), and when he’s ratted out for stealing from the boss he begins making small leaps through time…and assembling a criminal gang of his own…comprised strictly of time displaced versions of himself (who take on the eponymous moniker Mega Time Squad). Speaking of time, will John be able to foster a romance with Shelton’s sister (Hetty Gaskell-Hahn), avoid the Chinese time demon

Blu-ray Review Attraction (2017)

On the eve of a massive meteor shower, a titanic damaged U.F.O. crash lands in Moscow. This sets off massive confusion among the citizenry with many resisting the arrival of our new-found brothers from the stars, some out of prejudice and others out of more personal reasons, such as Julia (Irina Starshenbaum) who’s best friend Sveta (Darya Rudenok) was inadvertently killed as the craft ripped the city apart during it’s landing. Soon Julia, along with her boyfriend Tyoma (Alexander Petrov) and his friends venture into ground zero to see what just what the aliens, who claim they wish for nothing more than to be left alone and repair their ship, are really up to! Unbeknownst to her pals, Julia finds out a secret about the aliens that causes her to have a change of heart…a change that leads to the fires of revolution and even love. But will all of that be enough to save the city, and just who

Movie Review: Possum (2018)

Phillip (Sean Harris), a disgraced puppeteer (are there any other kinds really…), returns to his childhood home, or to be more precise; his isolated, dilapidated former home set among the bleak and barren Norfolk landscape. Once there he reflects on his troubled childhood and deals with his last surviving relative; a real son of a bitch named Maurice (Alun Armstrong). As the days progress, Phillip continuously attempts to rid himself of the spider-like puppet, the eponymous ‘Possum’, he lugs around in a large handbag…only to have the beast reappear. Just what did Phillip due to be ostracized, and just what connection does he have to the recent disappearance of a local schoolboy? Though by no means exactly this; the best way I can describe Possum is to imagine Robin Hardy directing Basket Case for Amicus (with Pete Walker consulting). This is one grim, dreary, surreal, and absolutely compelling watch, as Harris; as our perpetually frowning, chain smoking, and quite possibly

This October ‘Await Further Instructions’ (On VOD)

British director Johnny Kevorkian (The Disappeared) is ready to deliver Await Further Instruction this October, a mix of body horror, paranoia, and a holiday from hell. David Bradley (Game of Thrones, Harry Potter) stars in the film, set on Christmas Day. The Milgram family wake to find a mysterious black substance surrounding their house. Something monumental is clearly happening right outside their door, but what exactly – an industrial accident, a terrorist attack, nuclear war? Descending into terrified arguments, they turn on the television, desperate for any information. On screen, a message glows ominously: ‘Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions’. As the television exerts an ever more sinister grip, their paranoia escalates into bloody carnage. “A powder keg of throat-grabbing intensity and mind-bending body horror,” Await Further Instructions” is an unmissable tour-de-force from rising star filmmaker Johnny Kevorkian and the BAFTA-nominated producer of God’s Own Country.” Abigail Cruttenden, Holly Weston, Grant Masters, Sam Gittins, Neerja Naik, and Kris Saddler co-star.
