‘Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark’ Is Days Away From Filming

CBS Films’ Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark adaptation is only days away from filming, producer Guillermo del Toro announced today on Twitter. While Del Toro was at one time set to direct, André Øvreda, who was behind The Autopsy of Jane Doe, is now in the director’s chair. The two will both be producing the project. The film is based on the Alvin Schwartz book series that was released from 1981 to 1991 and scared the crap out of us as kids. The script was penned by Kevin and Dan Hageman, and Del Toro. “The thriller follows a group of young teens who must solve the mystery surrounding sudden and macabre deaths in their small town.” No cast have been announced at this time. “The Shape of Water” Gets The Funko Pop Treatment

As part of their unending quest to make Pop figures of every single franchise that has ever existed, Funko will turn characters from The Shape of Water into their signature big eyed toys. Right now three have been announced; deaf protagonist Eliza, her Amphibian lover, and Shape of Water director Guillmerro Del Toro himself. I didn’t know I needed an Del Toro fashion figure until I saw one, but now I’m in love. Here’s hoping Funko does all the famous directors; I’d love to carry around a miniature Tarantino.

Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio” Film Will Not Become A Real Boy

Known for his dark fairytales, like 2006’s “Pan’s Labyrinth” and the upcoming “The Shape of Water”, has been attached to an adult, stop motion Pinocchio film for some time. Exciting a prospect as that is, as anyone who follows del Toro’s career can tell you, the man has some bad luck getting projects off the ground. Sadly it looks like the strings on his adaptation of the famous puppet novel have been cut. “It’s not happening,” del Toro said in an interview with IGN, “But the idea was to do Pinocchio during the ascension of fascism in Italy, with Mussolini. It was a good time to discuss the idea of being a puppet or being a human, but you know, it’s not in progress.” Sounds like a fascinating idea to me, especially as a fan of del Toro’s unique style. “The Shape of Water” Get’s Theatrical Release December 1rst

Despite being having of cinema’s most unique and wonderful minds, Guillermo Del Toro has had some rotten luck in recent years getting his projects off the ground. “Pacific Rim 2”? Given to another director. “Hellboy 3”? Unceremoniously rebooted. “The Hobbit” series? Well, del Toro had the good sense to quit that steaming heap himself. All his work is not for naught however, as his new film, “The Shape of Water” has been absolutely swimming in critical praise. Starring a Sally Hawkins mute woman with a kink for gills, “The Shape of Water” is a unique love story, between two outcasts of society, one of whom just so happens to live underwater. For anyone worried this sounds like some kind of mushy gushy disney film, have no fear; the MPAA has rated the film R for “sexual content, graphic nudity, violence and language.” Del Toro is known for his rather twisted and beautiful takes on fantasy settings (if you haven’t seen

Del Toro Adapting Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

Guillermo det Toro is preparing a new project, the film adaption of the youth book series Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. The plot details are being kept hush, hush. Not only will del Toro be directing, he will also be producing along side Jason Brown, Sean Daniel and Elizabeth Grave. The extremely popular book series, which began in 1984, was written by Alvin Schwatz. The film is likely to be frightening, after all the books were banned by most libraries after being deemed too scary for kids by the American Library Association. I loved these books as a kid. I can’t wait to see del Toro’s adaption.

A Preview Of What’s To Come In Season 2 Of The Strain

The first season of ‘The Strain’, created by Gillermo del Toro, started with a silent plane full of dead passengers. The CDC was called in to investigate, but a virus soon began spreading through the city’s population. In the season finale we saw Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), his young son Max (Ben Hyland), Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley), Dr. Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro,Velders (Ruth Gedmintas) and Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) fighting to stop a plague of mutated people by killing “The Master”.
