Dracula Untold Director Returning To The World Of Vampires With RED RIVER

XYZ Films is currently at Cannes shopping the world sales rights for the genre thriller Red River, written by Ronan Blaney (Love Bites) and directed by Gary Shore (Dracula Untold), Deadline says. Shore says that the film tells the story of “a vampire hell-bent on teaching an isolated town a thing or two about its treatment of outsiders is a valuable reminder that man is capable of being a real monster.” I love Ronan’s script – heartbreaking, violent and touching all at once.” Shore said. “With influences like High Plaines Drifter, Shane and Let the Right One In, it’s definitely an original in the genre with the potential to be a modern classic.” Mark Huffman will serve as producer for Red River. Movie Review : Dracula Untold (2014)

In ‘Dracula Untold’ we see a new side of the Dracula legend that ties in the history of the real Vlad “The Impaler”. The movie delves into the beginning of Dracula’s story, when he was a man trying to protect his family and people against the Turks that he knows will invade. He refuses to meet their demands of one thousand boys as tribute for their army, when at the last moment of the meeting Mehmed also demands Vlad’s son to take to raise. Vlad has lived a peaceful life for ten years but the legendary fighter will never allow the Turks to take the boys or his son. Vlad must make a choice between losing it all or becoming a monster.
