Those who have been reading past articles of mine may have noticed that I covered Song of Horror a lot as the premise of the game caught my attention and got my spooky meter going as I do love a good scary game. The wait is over and I can now finally say a big thank you to Protocol Games and Raiser Games for the opportunity to review! Now let’s see if the long wait was worth it! Song of Horror follows 13 playable characters as they investigate the mysterious disappearance of famed mystery writer Sebastian P. Husher and his family. The investigation immediately goes out of control as the disappearances revolve around a mysterious music box and an otherworldly entity known simply as the Presence is responsible and has ensnared the investigators as well. If you are a fan of the old-school survival horror games, this is for you! Immediately you will notice that the game is set up

Two Evil Eyes is an arcane anthology divided into two halves (it’s all there in the title folks), both directed by legendary horror directors (George A. Romero and Dario Argento for those keepin’ score at home) and based on the writing of Edgar Allan Poe (The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar and The Black Cat respectively). Let’s kick out the jams with Romero’s joint, shall we? Jessica Valdemar (Adrienne Barbeau) is what one would call “a reluctant shit-heel”; sure she’s conspiring with Dr. Robert Hoffman (Ramy Zada) to bilk her dying husband, Ernest (Bingo O’Malley) out of his vast fortune via hypnosis… but she doesn’t feel great about it, until the dough begins to be well in hand that is. As fate would have it, Ernest buys the farm, so Bob and Jess chuck his dead ass in a large freezer in the basement and carry on with the Devil’s business… which you’d imagine would go smoothly, but

Estranged college chums Francis (Liam Aiken) and Jean Paul (Joe Adler) re-unite as ol’ JP has some sort of malady and could use a helping hand or two, and Francis is down on his luck and needs a place to stay. Also in the abode is JP’s twin sis, Vivian (Annalise Basso), whom Francis has a past with… but JP tells Francis to stay away from her as she’s become violently unhinged… but as is the way, the two do meet, and Viv has a doomsayer bag to lay all upon our hero involving her brother. Also in the mix is the eponymous Bloodhound, a crawling, faceless figure springing forth from JP’s nightmares that exists only to destroy the occupants of whatever house he decides to grace with his unholy presence… so Francis is in for one hell of a visit, that’s for damn sure… The Bloodhound, a slow-burn, loosey-goosey interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House

Being an adaptation of horror maestro Edgar Allan Poe’s 1843 short story The Black Cat, this film begins the only way it could; with a baby in the womb super-imposed with images of the cosmos. A visit to a movie set, some hair metal, and a baby having apocalyptic dreams later, and we know well and truly that Luigi Cozzi (Starcrash, Contamination) is following the original story to the absolute letter in such a slavish fashion that would make literary scholars the world over to rise up and shout “Skeet, skeet skeet!” Anyway, there’s also a freaky ass witch, and Caroline Munro involved in these goings-on as well. Not a lot of cats here so far, but I’m sure they’ll chuck one in at some point. (Edit: they do) So what exactly is going on in this picture? The long and the short of it all is; some folks want to make a horror movie about the aforementioned legendary evil
