Before the five minute mark of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark; the titular character (portrayed by Cassandra Peterson) is groped by her new boss… and then she proceeds to quit her shitty job, and push that grabby bastard right through a desk. This is because Elvira kicks major ass… and guess what, so does this film! After the aforementioned bad touch; Elvira plans on taking her act (which seems to vary from Horror Host to Vegas showgirl… and some unholy combination of both) to Vegas… but her prospective producers are demanding a large sum to put on her show… and with her source of income now in the zero range, that ain’t gonna happen. Luckily our heroine gets a telegram informing her that her Great-Aunt Morgana has gone tits up, and Elvira is set to score big in the will; so she loads up her creepy caddy (the Macabre-mobile by name) and drives off to Fallwell, Massachusetts, where shortly after

Elvira! Elvira! Elvira! Do I have your attention? She is Iconic, hilarious, sexy, scary, and a true living legend. Elvira herself was at the grand opening of the pop up shop Elvira’s Boutique in Hollywood at Hollywood & Highland. This shop looks amazing beyond words! It has exactly what you would expect in an Elvira-Themed shop and that is absolutely perfect. The site details, “The pop-up retail shop features ethically sourced chocolate bars in three chilling flavors (including dark dark chocolate), bubbles and baubles, exclusive clothing and purses, and even a display of her most treasured possessions, such as her original red velvet couch and the Elvira Macabre Mobile, a tricked-or-treated-out 1950s Ford Thunderbird with special decals and custom faux-leopard interior.” Included are photos of the shop and the best part is that if you don’t live in California it’s ok, just head online and visit Elvira’s Boutique from there.

You don’t have to be a horror fan to recognize the name Elvira (Casandra Peterson). The curvy, funny, dark haired beauty has it all, a long running career in the horror genre, movies, a long running show and last year she had a special hosted by Hulu. She also has a huge following of loyal fans. Elvira hasn’t had a show since the 90’s, but that’s about to change. Elvira let it slip at the Boston Comic Con that she now has an animated TV show in the works. That’s right, The “Mistress of The Dark” is returning to TV! At this time, we are not sure of any other details, but hopefully Mrs. Paterson/Elvira will let us fans know soon.

Late one night when I was twelve and up past curfew, I was channel surfing when I found reruns of this cheesy horror movie (I was already a horror addict by that point), suddenly this divine creature in a skin tight black dress came across the screen, Elvira, I was fascinated. Over the years my girl crush on Elvira never faded, after all she is the “Mistress Of The Dark”. Elvira brought the greatness out of bad horror movies with her one of a kind narration. Everyone knows the name Elvira and between her show, her movies, her photos in magazines, you’ve had to see her at some point. The lady is hard miss. Her larger than life personality, her outrageous sense of humor and great looks have made her a legend. How much do you know about the women behind the spunky character? Elvira’s real name is Cassandra Peterson. Cassandra was born in Manhattan, Kansas and raised in Colorado
