Movie Review: The Babadook (2014)
Spoiler Free A single mother, who 7 years later still can’t get over the death of her husband, is struggling to cope with her situation. After reading a strange book to her son, they become plagued by strange occurrences and a dark figure. “If it’s in a word or it’s in a look, you can’t get rid of The Babadook.” ‘The Babadook’ was written and directed by Jennifer Kent, who also wrote and directed 2005’s short horror film ‘Monster’. The exhausted single mother, Amelia, is played by ‘The Matrix: Revolution’ actress Essie Davis. The role of Amelia’s unruly son, Samuel, is played by Noah Wiseman (The Gift). Since before ‘The Babadook’ hit theaters it has been making big waves in the horror community and since it was released in theaters it has been hailed as the best horror of 2o14.
