Director Craig Singer has now completed principal photography and post-production on his new psychological horror feature, The Block. To celebrate, the film has released its first image.

Recent Tony Award winner Jack Falahee stars alongside rising actress Saphira Moran in the lead role. The story centers on acclaimed horror author Mitch James, who reaches the peak of his career. However, his professional success quickly devolves into a violent case of writer’s block and deadly obsession. Moran plays a devoted fan turned girlfriend whose dangerous fixation escalates the central conflict.

Exploration of Creative Struggle and Modern Tech

The project explores what an artist will sacrifice to secure their legacy in an evolving creative landscape. Former Disney executive Craig Singer directed the feature, based on a screenplay by collaborator Robert Dean Klein. Singer and Klein previously teamed up on the award-winning psychological thriller 6:45. The story locks its protagonist in a mind-bending cycle of creation and self-destruction. The director crafted the film as a philosophical fable rather than relying on simple jump scares.

Star-Studded Supporting Ensemble Cast

The feature boasts an impressive ensemble cast filled with veteran genre talent and recognizable screen actors. The Thing star Thomas G. Waites joins Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley in key supporting roles. Additionally, Terrifier actress Catherine Corcoran appears alongside Chris Noth, Armen Garo, Michael Rodrick, Carrie Jo Crosby, and Elias Koteas. This diverse cast brings depth to the film’s descent into nightmare and creative madness.

International Independent Co-Production

US-based Cascrator Films partnered with Australian production company Three777 Films to produce the psychological horror feature. Three777 Films previously co-produced the action thriller Beast alongside the recent indie slasher The Only One. Consequently, this international collaboration joins forces to bring Singer’s long-gestating vision to global horror audiences. The creative team expects to finalize distribution plans after post-production concludes. The release date has not been announced yet.
