Blu-ray Review: Don’t Grow Up (2015)

In a sparsely populated youth center on a remote island, a group of scruffy young tear-aways get their delinquent on when they discover the facilities supervisor has disappeared. thing remarkably don’t go full Lord of the Flies, mostly because our young antagonists soon learn that every adult in the surrounding area has turned into a rabid zombie like being overnight. Now our heroes must survive the (minor) onslaught and pray they don’t age into monsterhood too soon! Straight up, if you go into Don’t Grow Up expecting a full on zombie holocaust you are going to be severely disappointed. Rather, this flick is a rather somber coming of age drama, acted by an admittedly talented troupe of young thespians. Movie Review: Cold Hell is a Dark Thriller With a Unique Perspective!

Ozge (Violetta Schurawlow) has it tough all over; she’s a Turkish cab driver livin’ in Vienna which makes her about as popular as a fart in a submarine with the locals, and most of her family isn’t too keen on her either. As you may guess, this makes Ozge a bit anxious, so she heads to the local gym to kick dude’s asses up under their hats (as well as the occasional policeman or customer). As fate would have it, there’s a real sick ticket roaming the streets, torturing sex workers of the Muslim faith to death, and our heroine gets a glimpse of this madman (and vice-versa) as he makes like the wind and blows the scene after killing Ozge’s prostitute neighbor. After dealing with unsympathetic cops, Big O’s nightmare comes true as the killer returns and the two battle in an out of control taxi (a real jaw-dropper of a sequence I must say). This leads to a

Movie Review: The Lullaby Will Ensure You Sleep Uneasy!

Teen mom Chloe returns home to Eden Rock in order to have the support of her mother in raising her infant son. Man it would suck if the place was a concentration camp a hundred or so years ago where babies were summarily executed. Anyway, that baby gets to constantly cryin’, Chloe falls into a depression, and begins seeing and hearing signs that her baby may be haunted. Despite the fact that her family and psychologist think she is just stressed the F out being a new mother and all, the evil omens grow ever more intense and dark secrets are revealed that push our heroine further over the edge. The Lullaby is a dreary, dark, and at times difficult fright flick to endure. Chloe (played to perfection by Reine Swart) is a stressed out, angsty hot mess, which definitely helps audience unease, and the underlying subject matter of violence towards infants is rather off-putting as well. I’m of two
