We’ve been reporting about the upcoming “Alien” spin-off series for a while now. Today we have new details. Noah Hawley who is helming the series revealed to Esquire that the FX series will be set on Earth, a first for the franchise. The series’ first season will explore advancements in artificial intelligence and the development of cyborgs. It is an origin story of sorts. “It’s set on Earth of the future. At this moment, I describe that as Edison versus Westinghouse versus Tesla. Someone’s going to monopolize electricity. We just don’t know which one it is … In the movies, we have this Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which is clearly also developing artificial intelligence-but what if there are other companies trying to look at immortality in a different way, with cyborg enhancements or transhuman downloads? Here’s Everything We Know About The “Alien” TV Series So Far

FX’s is expanding the Alien universe with the franchise’s first series. While details are still limited we do know a few things so far. Franchise creator Ridley Scott, who is executive producing, revealed some details surrounding the new show during a recent interview with the BBC, including that the series will be eight to ten hours long in all. So, we’ll be seeing eight to ten episodes. What’s it about? FX’s John Landgraf has described the series as “the first Alien story set on Earth — and by blending both the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats.” First announced back in 2020, the series is will feature Noah Hawley (“Legion,” “Fargo”) as showrunner. and has stated that “Alien” is “not a Ripley story,” adding, “She’s one of the great characters of all time, and I think

“What We Do In The Shadows” Renewed As Trailer For Season 3 Debuts

Ahead of the season three premiere of FX’s laugh-out-loud mocumentary series “What We Do in the Shadows“, news has come that the show has already been renewed for its fourth season which will premiere in 2022. Filmmaking Duo Behind “The OA” Team Up For ‘Clue’ Like Series “Retreat” For FX

Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the filmmaking team behind Netflix’s series “The OA” and the film Sound of my Voice are teaming up once again, this time to write and direct a new mystery series titled “Retreat” that will air on FX. Marling will also star in the series, which sounds a lot like Clue, as Darby Hart, an amateur sleuth who attempts to solve a murder at a secluded retreat, Deadline reports. In the series, “Darby and 11 other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must fight to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.” A premiere date has not been announced at this time, but we’ll keep you posted. New “American Horror Story: Double Feature” Trailer Teases The Lovecraftian Horrors That Await Us

The tenth season of FX’s “AHS”, titled “American Horror Story: Double Feature” will be split into two halves. The first half, “Red Tide” premieres later this month and we’ve got the trailer that gives us a real look at the season. Part One centers on a struggling writer, his pregnant wife, and their daughter who move to an isolated beach town for the winter. As they settle in, the town’s residents begin to make themselves known. Regular returning cast members include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Leslie Grossman, and Angelica Ross. Macaulay Culkin has joined the cast along with Kaia Gerber. Check out the trailer that teases the horrors that await us in the first half of “American Horror Story: Double Feature – Part One: Red Tide” which premieres on FX on August 25, 2021. Review: The “American Horror Stories” Premiere Feels Too Familiar

The AHS spin-off “American Horror Stories” has now premiered and is available on both FX and Hulu, and we’ve got thoughts. In the premiere, titled “Rubber(wo)Man”, a young woman (Sierra McCormick) and her two dads (Matt Bomer and Gavin Creel )move into the infamous “Murder House” from season one of “AHS.” Her dark killer instinct comes out as she discovers the gimp suit worn by Tate. You may remember that anyone who dies inside the house, has their spirit trapped there forever, that’s key to the story as the body count quickly rises in the premiere. “American Horror Stories” has been described as delving into “myths, legends, and more.” But we see none of that in the premiere. What we get is kill after kill that feels too familiar. It’s just like another episode of “Murder House,” but with a female serial killer instead of Tate. I can’t say I’m impressed. Aubrey Plaza, Danny DeVito, and Lucy DeVito, Danny’s daughter, will lend their voices to the characters of the upcoming FXX adult animated horror sitcom “Little Demon,” Variety reports. The show follows a reluctant mother (Plaza) 13 years after being impregnated by Devil (Danny DeVito). She and her Antichrist daughter (Lucy DeVito) attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware but are constantly thwarted by monstrous forces, including Satan, who yearns for custody of his daughter’s soul. FX has now announced their new Alien series. The announcement came today from FX chief John Landgraf. The series is from “Fargo” and “Legion’s” Noah Hawley who will write and executive produce the show under his 26 Keys banner. But wait, that’s not all, Ridley Scott, who directed both Alien and Alien: Covenant” is in advanced talks to executive produce as well, Variety reports. The new series will mark a first in the franchise being set in the not so distant future on Earth. The series will blend the “timeless horror of the first Alien with the non-stop action of the second.” FX is moving quickly to bring audiences the first television series based on one of the greatest science-fiction horror classics ever made: Alien.” Landgraf added, “It’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats.” We’ll keep you posted.
