‘Boar’ Trailer Finally Released…And It Is Gory

The movie poster from the sure-to-be-gory film ‘Boar’ was just release, but now we have a trailer to go with it! The film will debut at the Brussels International Film Festival on April 13. One think I am most excited for (and it is very wonderfully obvious in the trailer) is the use of actual effects instead of CGI. That fact alone is enough for me to check out the film! In the harsh, yet beautiful Australian Outback lives a beast, an animal of staggering size, with a ruthless, driving need for blood and destruction. It cares for none, defends its territory with brutal force, and kills with a raw, animalistic savagery unlike any have seen before. Believed nothing more than a myth, a legend brought to life by a drunken local, the beast ventures closer to civilization, closer to life, and ultimately, closer to death. It’s brutal, it’s bloodthirsty… it’s Boar. ‘Boar’ stars Wolf Creek’s John Jarratt alongside Otis

Movie Review: The Gruesome Twosome is an Essential Addition to any Gore Hound’s Library!

In Herschell Gordon Lewis’ (The Godfather of Gore) The Gruesome Twosome we are introduced to an elderly woman and her mentally handicapped son; a duo with a strange hobby, namely scalping comely young lasses and selling their hair as wigs to meet customer demand (well, we learn of this after an introduction featuring two talking Styrofoam heads…because yes…). Anyway, before long a snoopy co-ed named Kathy begins weaving clues together and discovers the hair-raising truth, but can the demented duo be stopped before they kill again? Filled with off-kilter performances, a tongue in cheek story line, and crude yet effective (and groundbreaking) gore effects, The Gruesome Twosome is a ton of goofy, gory, fright flick fun! It also runs a lean hour and eleven minutes so it rock n’ rolls along at a good clip (even with padding such as the slumber party dancing and KFC chomping mash up, and Kathy’s ultra-shitty detective work…oh and the potato chip and fruit

Horror Short Of The Week: “Fist Of Jesus”

Welcome to Horror Fuel’s Horror Short of the Week, where we take a look at the best scary shorts you can watch for free online. This week we present Fist of Jesus! The Jesus of Nazareth featured in the Hebrew Bible was always a rather passive fellow. Sure, there was the odd temple courtyard whip attack, and a table upturning or two, but old J.C. was generally a pretty chill dude. So for us heretics and sinners looking for a cooler kind of savior, Fist of Jesus portrays the Son of Man as the kind of Lord worth worshiping; a zombie slaying, sandal wearing, sword-fish wielding badass. After a disastrous attempt to waken the deceased where he succeeds just a little to well, it’s up to Jesus send the undead masses back to the hell he rose them from. Accompanied only by the cowardly judas, a whole lot of fish, and some of the most impressive practical effects this side

Movie Review: Death-Scort Service Part 2: The Naked Dead is a Flesh and Blood Drenched Orgy!

Look, I’ll be honest with you creeps, I have never seen (or even heard of) Death-Scort Service Part 1; but as is my way with everything, that don’t mean shit to me. I’m sure a fine, morally upstanding picture like Death-Scort Service Part 2: The Naked Dead will do your’s cruelly a solid (probably on my chest), and catch me right up to speed… …and wadda ya know, the film begins with a flashback to the conclusion of the first flick; courtesy of the final girl, Michelle (Krystal Pixie Adams) having a lil’ bubble bath flashback (as you do after such things). Anyway, long story short, hookers vs. a serial killer, Hookers 1 : Serial Killer 0. Well as fate would have it, a new killer rises to take the place of the last and a new batch of lusty ladies (who just want to save up enough scratch to have a home, sweet home to call their very own)

Gore Films: The Depraved And The Delicious

(I wrote this for a film studies class I’m taking on “guilty pleasures.” Hope you enjoy) Gore Films: The Depraved And The Delicious Guilty pleasures are somewhat of a conceited concept. Why feel guilty for something that brings joy into your life? Long as they’re not hurting anybody, everybody should be free to get their kicks however they wish. Life is far too short to give even the smallest amount of care to what others think, especially about your hobbies. Saying that, while I don’t feel the slightest amount of guilt or trepidation in enjoying gore movies, I can understand why others might. There’s something a little sick, a little depraved, a little naughty about taking pleasure in the taboo, and gore movies are certainly nothing if not taboo. Defining a gore movie isn’t exactly complicated; it’s right there in the title after all. Just about any movie that relishes in bloodshed, that turns splattering the red stuff into an

New 4K Transfer Of ‘Effects’ To Hit Blu-Ray This August

Taken from the only theatrical print known to exist, AGFA (the American Genre Film Archive), a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of genre films, will unleash Effects on Blu-Ray on August 22, 2017. Written and directed by Dusty Nelson (Sakura Killers), Effects is a do-it-yourself horror flick weaving the story of a gang of coke-addled filmmakers gathered in Pittsburgh to film a faux-snuff slasher film. As a series of grisly accidents cause the casualties to pile up, it becomes clear that no one on the film’s crew is to be trusted. Equal parts low-budget Carpenter-esque student film and gory exploitation piece (think 1976 splatterpiece Snuff), Effects is both a study of the philosophy of horror, and a simple, sleazy genre film. Starring effects master Tom Savini along with Joe Pilato (Day of the Dead), and John Harrison (Tales from the Darkside: The Movie), Effects was produced by both Harrison and Pasquale Buba. Savini provides the film’s visual effects.

New Predator Will be Bigger and Bloodier (updated)

In preparation for the upcoming Predator film, I just watched the original and was reminded of the franchise’s greatness. Yeah, it’s been watered down a bit over a few movies and crossovers (although they were fun in their own right). I was thrilled to hear that Shane Black (who played Hawkins in the original) is directing the upcoming Fred Dekker written film. And even more thrilled at the news Black posted on his twitter account. @BonadfideBlack and, just to be clear… PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed… a lot. Now, gore doesn’t guarantee a good movie, but Black knows and loves the franchise, promises a return to the spirit of the first movie and rumors that it will be set in an urban location with a bigger, and stronger genetically engineered predator (in case an invisible, knife wielding alien with a laser on his shoulder wasn’t good enough). The ever- growing cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown,

The Oddience Of Genre Sinema

By: Richard Stringham the founder & CEO of S & Drive Cinema, an independent production company out of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Stringham is also the producer, writer, and director of ‘Close Calls‘, his horror feature debut. “To avoid fainting, keep repeating: It’s only a movie… only a movie… only a movie… only a movie.” What happened to brilliant ad campaigns like this? And what the hell happened to the films that used to induce this sort of madness? In the late ’60s throughout the ’70s, filmmakers used to express their anguish, anxieties, concerns and distrust associated with the government, societal progression, and the American dream. It was fiction, but nevertheless it reflected harsh realities and a darker side of humanity. And more importantly, it upset the status quo. I feel like the political climate we’re in now is a perfect time for brave and daring artists to do something innovative and subversive with their freedom of expression. But with
