Sean Patrick Flanery And Lew Temple Saddle Up For Horror Western ‘Spirit Reckoning’

Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints) and Lew Temple (The Walking Dead, The Devil’s Rejects) have saddled up for the horror-western Spirit Reckoning, written and directed by Jimmy Lee Combs (Terror Tales). Flanery stars as gunfighter Lawson Lovette whose psychotic tendencies and skills with a revolver make him the perfect candidate to aid our hero Sam Conley AKA “The Skull Cowboy” on his blood-soaked journey of revenge. Temple is set to play the role of Ottis Clement who is just as crazed as Lawson, sparking an intense rivalry between the two men. Ottis causes chaos and anarchy in the Wild West alongside his brother Ed and leader of their posse Savage Bill. Spirit Reckoning is a fun-filled action-horror-western that has never been done like this before and we’re billing it as John Woo meets Sergio Leone meets the horror genre,” Jimmy Lee Combs said. “The Lawson Lovette character is a real ball of fire with some great wisecracks along the

Here’s What We Know About The “Chucky” Series

With Orion gearing up to release their Child’s Play reboot next month, you may be wondering where franchise creator Don Mancini‘s “Chucky” series stands. Last we reported Nick Antosca who created “Channel Zero” had come on board to produce. During a recent talk with Slash Film, Antosca teased that the series will more like the early films of the franchise and less like the Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky. The series is going to be closer to the tone of the first two movies in the series,” Antosca stated. “It’s going to go back to a sort of classic scare.” He continued. ““It’s consistent with that mythology, but it’s a whole new story,” Antosca explained. “So you could come into it without knowing anything about the previous stuff and get into it. But it is consistent with all the mythology that has come before, so it is in canon.” Antosca has left the door open for franchise regulars

Elisabeth Moss Confirmed For Leigh Whannell’s ‘The Invisible Man’

One of the horror films we’re most looking forward to next is Leigh Whannell‘s Universal Monster reboot of The Invisible Man, which he wrote and will direct. Universal and Blumhouse are teaming up for the film which will hopefully put Universal’s Dark Universe back on track after The Mummy failed to please fans and critics back in 2017. Last month we reported that “The Handmaid’s Tale” actress Elisabeth Moss was in negotiations to star. We can now confirm that the talented actress has now officially signed. Johnny Depp was originally attached but is no longer involved with the project. The first art is here from Sony’s new sequel to Ghostbusters, directed by Jason Reitman. While it is NOT an official poster, the art has an interesting tagline, “You know who to call”, a twist on the original’s “Who you gonna call?” But things could change before next year’s release. Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”, IT), McKenna Grace (Captain Marvel), and Carrie Coon (widows) have already joined the cast as the family at the heart of the film that has “moved back home to a small town where they learn more about who they are.” Filming is set to begin this summer on the sequel that will completely bypass Paul Feig’s 2016 female-driven remake. Reitman directs from the script he co-wrote with Gil Kenan. Ghostbusters will open in theaters on July 10, 2020.

American Gods’ Orlando Jones Will Face ‘Dark Forces’ In Upcoming Horror Film

Today, Lexicon announced that they have cast actor Orlando Jones in Dark Forces, the third film from The Timber director Anthony O’Brien who co-wrote the script along with Lexicon co-founders and producers Mark Mathias (Doubting Thomas) and Justin Foia (Point Defiance). In Dark Forces, “While recovering from brain surgery at a rehabilitation center, acclaimed monster movie director Jerry Graves (Jones) becomes haunted by the ghastly creatures and grisly scenes of his own horror films.” It’s a huge honor to be directing Dark Forces in and of itself, but to have Orlando Jones as the lead is beyond thrilling,” says O’Brien. “Building the film around him was the easiest decision I could make. Orlando’s multi-talented and intellectually stimulating performances speak for themselves; his turn as ‘Mr. Nancy’ on STARZ’ American Gods provides a perfect example of this. His contribution to DARK FORCES will allow the audience to experience a thoughtful energy and voice that old (and new) fans of the genre
