Director Michael Kehoe Talks ‘Hush’ And His Upcoming Feature ‘The Hatred’ In An Interview

Two years ago we covered a fantastic short horror film titled Hush which was racking up awards at film festivals at the time. I sat down with it’s director Michael Kehoe and he told us how the short film came to be and more. Some may not know it but the Hush and Kehoe’s upcoming feature film The Hatred are connected. Hush is actually a single scene taken from the original script of The Hatred. Kehoe and I recently caught up and he was willing to talk to us about The Hatred which centers on four young women who travel to their college professor’s country home for a weekend getaway, only to discover that the house has a malevolent past. Horror Fuel: “The last time we talked, your short film ‘Hush’ was still making its festival rounds and racking up awards. Do you remember off of the top of your head how many awards it won in all?” Kehoe: “We

From The Set Of ‘Stan Against Evil’ – A Glimpse At Season 2

The second season of IFC’s fantastic horror series Stan Against Evil is currently filming in Georgia. A few days ago, we had the pleasure of spending a few hours on the set. We not only got to meet several of the incredibly talented actors, but also Dana Gould the show’s creator, who is absolutely hilarious, Robert Cohen who directed four of the eight episodes from season 2, and several members of the special effects team. We also had the honor of exploring the set and watching an episode being filmed. When we first arrived we entered a large black tent with hoses pumping cold air into the structure. Upon entering we were instantly confronted by a a figure covered in a white sheet which was later revealed to be the Wraith from the first season. We shuffled into our chairs and soon Dana Gould and director Robert Cohen appeared. Gould automatically cracked a joke and the room erupted in laughter.

Is ‘The Mummy’ As Bad As Everyone Says?

Yes. Yes it is. ………But I think its worth watching anyway, as a lesson in how not to make a horror movie, if nothing else. Studio horror rightfully gets a lot of shit, and The Mummy might just be the perfect example of a production studio that doesn’t have a fucking clue what horror fans want. But what this disaster-piece really does is show how little faith studios have in horror at all. Despite films like The Conjuring grossing over $300 Million dollars, film producers still don’t believe horror has the drawing power that more traditional Blockbuster and action films do. So rather than anything close to a horror movie, The Mummy is instead a big budget Tom Cruise action film, the start of a cinematic universe no less (on a related note, has anyone outside of Marvel even come close to a halfway watchable cinematic universe?) Never mind the fact that the mummy is a monster with literally thousands

With June being Pride month I wanted to examine the horror genre from the LBGTQ point of view. Alan Ritchson, who has appeared in series such as Blue Mountain State and films like The Wedding Ringer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is now starring in Syfy’s new series Blood Drive. Ritchson sat down with me to answer a few questions about the insane series and his role as Officer Arthur Bailey, the last good cop in a world that’s gone to hell. Syfy and Midnight Grindhouse have teamed up for this brutal, high-octane series, set in a near-dystopian future, 1999. The show centers on a former cop (Ritchson) who is forced to take part in a death race in which cars run on human blood. Partnered with Grace, the two must race as a team, like it or not, or have their heads blown off by a remote device implanted at the base of their skulls. Horror Fuel: “Can you tell us about your role on Syfy’s new
