New TV Spot For Independence Day: Resurgence Gives Us A Glimpse Of The Alien Queen

Independence Day: Resurgence will open in theaters later this month. And a series of trailers, clips and TV spots have been released giving us a glimpse of the amazing special effects and the insane action sequences. A new TV spot has now arrived that gives us not only a look at the “fire in the sky”, but also the alien queen. The long awaited sequel to the 1996 blockbuster picks up 20 years after the original invasion, and the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to defend the world. Nothing could have prepared them for the battle they are about to face. Only the actions of a few brave men and women stand between the human race and complete annihilation. IDR stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, Jesse Usher, Charlotte Gainsburg, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward. Since the aliens attached, in Independence Day, we’ve known that they would be back. That time has come. Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Brent Spiner, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe and William Fichner star in Independence Day: Resurgence. Synopsis: After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter deliver global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. Why Will Smith Is Missing In Action From The Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer

Last night the trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence landed, and it’s fantastic. There’s only one problem, it’s lacking Will Smith. Smith played the role of Captain Steve Hiller, the badass fly-boy who, along with Jeff Goldblum, saved the world in the first film. But why is Smith missing from the sequel? We can answer that. Director Roland Emmerich told Collider in an interview back in June that Smith was “just tired of sequels” and was not interested in doing another science-fiction movie after his 2013 film After Earth. It starred Smith and his son, and it crashed and burned. So, you may be wondering how they explain Smith’s absence. We can answer that too. In the sequel we will learn that Smith was killed in a training accident. According to Fox he was killed when alien technology malfunctioned in 2007. Let’s be honest, Resurgence looks great, but it won’t be the same without Smith’s wit.

Director Roland Emmerich has announced via Twitter that ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ has completed filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ‘Resurgence’ is the long awaited sequel to the 1996 blockbuster about a world wide alien invasion. In the sequel the nations of Earth, using the alien’s technology, have built a defense system knowing that one day the aliens would return, but nothing has prepared them for the fight ahead. It’s up to a few brave men and women to fight back and save the world from extinction. Several on the original movies’ cast are returning for ‘Resurgence’, including Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Sela Ward and Judd Hirsch. Director Roland Emmerich, who also directed the first ‘Independence Day’, revealed the sequel’s title ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ during a Q&A event with VSauce3 on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The cast was also introduced at the event, which includes Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Judd Hirsh and Vivica A. Fox. The plot of ‘Resurgence’ was also discussed during the event. ” We always knew they were coming back.
