John Carpenter Announces The New Halloween’s Writers, Director, And Release Date

It has been a while since we heard an update about the new ‘Halloween film’, until now . John Carpenter, who is serving as executive producer, last gave an update back in November. Today, he has given us fans a tasty little treat. Carpenter posted on his Facebook page that an unlikely team has come together to bring back Michael Myers. So you say you want a Reveloution? You want to shake things up and bring back Halloween and make it rock again? Well so do I. So here’s the announcement you’ve all been waiting for: David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are joining the project to complete the creative team. Throwback Thursday Movie Review: THE THING is a Perfect Blend of Sci-Fi, Horror and Paranoia

“Paranoia is just another mask for ignorance. The truth, when you finally chase it down is almost always far worse than your darkest visions and fears” – Hunter S. Thompson It’s business as usual in the Antarctic, at The National Science Institute research station, U.S. Outpost 31, that is until a sled dog arrives in the camp being frantically pursued by two Norwegians in a helicopter. The chopper lands and the Norwegian pilot haphazardly tries to throw an explosive charge into the camp to destroy the dog, but drops it in the snow blowing up himself and the chopper. The other Norwegian starts trying to shoot the dog, injuring one of the members of the outpost’s crew. The outpost chief shoots and kills him, thus eliminating any further threat. Such an odd occurrence begs an explanation, but the only one left alive that has a clue is the dog…and he’s not talking. The only available answers can now be found

New Details Revealed For The ‘Escape From New York’ Reboot

‘Escape From New York’ is one of John Carpenter’s best creations. Now, the reboot is underway and plot details have been revealed. Carpenter will serve as an executive producer for the remake, penned by Neal Cross. Colonel Robert “Snake” Plissken will have 11 hours (originally it was 22) to save the president. No one could replace Sir Issac Hayes as the Duke of New York, so the character won’t be part of the reboot. Instead, we will see a new character named Thomas Newton, a “playboy heir to an agrochemical and biotech corporation”. The film is that the movie starts out in another city before heading to New York. It seems the new version is going to be very different than the original. John Carpenter Gives An Update On His Reboot Of Halloween

Big news came this past May when it was announced that John Carpenter is teaming up with Blumhouse for reboot of ‘Halloween’. It was reported that Carpenter would serve as executive producer and possibly create the score. Which was huge news, seeing that Carpenter has not been involved with the franchise in decades. Unfortunately, the film hasn’t moved any further along than it was back in October when Jason Blum stated they were still looking for the best way to approach the reboot. During a conversation with Dark Universe, Carpenter revealed that it hasn’t gotten any closer to filming. I’ve known Jason [Blum] for a while, he came to me and said ‘How do you feel about this now that rights have diverted?’ and I said, ‘Sure, why not? Road to Death House Part 4: Open Letter

Friday. November 11th. Death House is officially done. Like the 2016 election, it will soon be in the hands of the people to make their decision. The Road to Death House Pt. 3

“Please don’t let this be full of jump scares like The Conjuring movies.” “I hope this is smart and actually has a story.” “I don’t expect much from this. It’ll likely suck. Just accept it.” “Stupid title. Stupid premise. Nothing to see here, folks.” “This will suck.” “I have hopes for this.” “Based on the cast of old stars [that] they have, I don’t see this being any good.” Internet comments. Most of them from “trolls.” Trolls are people I sum up by asking a simple question: “And where is the movie you made?” Oh…that’s right. I believe there can be too much democracy. The Internet has given a voice to groups of people that should not have one. John Carpenter Insulted The Walking Dead In A Big Way

Writer/director/producer John Carpenter is a true master of horror. He’s a legend with films like Halloween, Escape from New York, They Live, and many others to his credit. Carpenter is known for being blunt when it comes to his opinion. Recently he was featured on the WTF Podcast, hosted by Marc Maron. During the broadcast the two discussed many things, but one comment stood out. It is reference to AMC’s hit zombie series The Walking Dead, which will begin its seventh season this Fall. It seems Mr. Carpenter really dislikes the show, in fact he basically called it a rip-off of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. John Carpenter Reveals His Opinion Of The Friday The 13th Franchise, And It Isn’t Good

During a recent podcast John Carpenter expressed his hatred for the Friday the 13th franchise. In his discussion with Bret Easton Ellis about his involvement as executive producer for the new upcoming Halloween film currently in development, Carpenter ripped the 1980 horror classic a new one with a string of insults, basically calling them copycats and reviving the long running feud between the two franchises. “I think the reason that all these slasher movies came in the 80’s was a lot of folks said, ‘Look at that Halloween movie. It was made for peanuts, and look at the money it has made. We can make money like that. That’s what the teenagers want to see’. The New Halloween Movie May Have Found Its Director

News broke last night that John Carpenter is returning to executively produce, serve as creative consultant and possibly compose the score for Blumhouse’s new Halloween movie, premiering in October of 2017. Today we learned, via Bloody-Disgusting, that the film may have found its director. According to the site, Mike Flanagan is currently in talks to direct. Flanagan has worked with Blumhouse before. Flanagan directed last year’s home invasion film Hush, as well as Oculus. And is currently directing Ouija 2 , the sequel to 2014’s supernatural film that revolves around a Ouija Board. “HALLOWEEN needs to return to its traditions,” Carpenter said. “I feel like the movies have gotten away from that…Michael is not just a human being; he’s a force of nature, like the wind. John Carpenter’s classic horror film Halloween, released in 1978, began a franchise that seems as unstoppable as the masked killer Michael Myers himself. The franchise will soon add another sequel. Blumhouse announced that Michael is coming home. Blumhouse founder/CEO Jason Blum, Malek Akkad, the franchise’s long-term producer, along with Miramax and Trancas International Films have teamed up to deliver a new Halloween film of epic proportions. The best part, John Carpenter, the father of Halloween himself, announced at a press meeting that he has signed on to serve as both executive producer and creative consultant for the project.
