Movie Review: The Cabin (2018)

Hey I got a new one for ya; a couple heads to a secluded cabin and encounter terror…and by new I mean absolutely the most tired trope out there. Let’s see if The Cabin can do anything to spice up this hoary ol’ chestnut… Bickering couple, Rose (Caitlin Crommett) and Harry (Christopher Lee Page) head out for a little R&R at a cabin located in the middle of East Asshair where they hope to patch it up baby as their relationship comes apart at the seams (apologies to The King for that paraphrasin’). Sounds well and good except, they are not alone for long at the rustic abode as a deceitful, absolutely bat-shit insane psycho named Sven (Erik Kammerland who also wrote the flick) comes into their lives and forces them into one hell of a nightmare scenario…one in which there may not be a way out of alive! A Vacation Turns Into A Nightmare In ‘The Cabin’ – On VOD And DVD This December

This December, a young American couple’s vacation turns into a nightmare in The Cabin, the Swedish feature film debut of Jophan Bodell. The Cabin, penned by Erik Kammerland and produced by Alec Trachtenberg of Coast ART Productions and KW Studios, takes you to the rural backwater of the Swedish summer, and on a trip you will never forget. In the film, a young American couple, Rose (Caitlin Crommett) and Harry (Christopher Lee Page) are on their way to visit Harrys family cabin. Both as a nostalgic vacation and as a way to rekindle their relationship. But they’re not the only one that decided to visit the cabin this weekend… The vacation is quickly turned into a living nightmare for Rose and Harry as they meet a vicious sociopath, who invites them into a involuntary cat and mouse game. The Cabin makes its North American debut on VOD and DVD on December 4, 2018, from High Octane Pictures.
