Jordan Peele Gives First Hints Of His Next Film

Since it’s release last February, “Get Out” has proven to have legs and then some, grossing over $250 million dollars and mopping up on the rewards segment, including four academy award nominations. It was a smashing successful and startling debut for first time director Jordan Peele, best known for his sketch show on Comedy Central. With Peele having one of the the most promising directoral debuts in history, horror or not, all eyes are locked on the 38 year old, wondering what film he’ll cook up next. While much is still unknown, Jordan has peeled back the first few layers of what his next project might be, stating in an interview with THR; “You know, I think it’s important to focus on stories that are true to me. My next film, I am currently writing it and I’ll direct for Universal this year; I’m just trying to entertain myself again.” He elaborated that he doesn’t want to make just another

Jordan Peele’s debut horror film Get Out is considered by many (including us) to be the best film of the year, in fact, it’s been nominated for an Acadamy Award. Following its success. Of course, fans were left wanting more. Speaking with Deadline, Peele stated that he is open to a sequel. I haven’t decided anything yet and I am allowing the creative part to bubble up, and not force it,” Peele told the site. “I know if a follow-up is meant to happen, it will. I’m open to figuring out what it is. But I also don’t want to let down the original and its fans. I simply would not do something like that for the cash.” Peele has already signed a multi-picture deal with Universal to continue his series of social thrillers with the next film arriving in 2019. Here’s the kicker, it will have a budget 5 times the budget of Get Out. Peele is also currently

GET OUT’s Alternate Ending Featured On The Blu-ray And DVD – Now In Stores

Jordan Peele’s genre debut, Get Out, was not only a success, it is already being hailed as this year’s top horror film, and it’s only May (spoiler free review). Today, Get Out landed online and on the shelves. As fans who missed it in theaters or who simply want to watch it again (and again) rush to get their copy, there is a special feature that is worth seeing. There is an alternative ending that is far different from the one seen in theaters. During an interview on Talking With Chris Hardwick, Peele confessed that he wrote multiple endings for the hit film. I don’t want to spoil it for those of you who haven’t seen the film yet. Let’s just say the alternate ending does not go well for Chris (Daniel Kaluuya). For those of you who are not familiar with Get Out, the story centers around Chris, a young African American man, and his white girlfriend Rose (Allison

Get Out Director Jordan Peele Is Heading To Lovecraft Country

It appears Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele is Heading to Lovecraft Country. Peele’s Monkey Paw Productions is teaming up with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Warner Bros. on a new one-hour series, titled Lovecraft Country, that will call HBO home. Underground creator Misha Green is currently penning the script for the pilot, based on the 2016 book by Matt Ruff. The series centers on 25-year-old Atticus Black. After his father goes missing, Black joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950’s America to find him. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the malevolent spirits that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback. Peele brought the book to Green’s attention. “When I first read Lovecraft Country, I knew it had the potential to be unlike anything else on television.” Green said. I’ll be honest, I thought Get Out was fantastic and

‘Get Out’ Director Makes An Incredible Offer To African American Filmmakers

Jordan Peele’s Get Out is still killing it at the box office, bringing in over $113 million for a film whose budget was $5 million. Get Out is not only brilliant, it contains serious social commentary about the state of racism today. We reported earlier this month that Get Out is only the first of a series of genre films Peele has planned with each addressing a different “social demon”. During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Peele made an incredible offer to black filmmakers. For young black horror filmmakers, if you have a script, reach out and I’ll try to help it get made. MonkeyPaw Productions is my production company and we’re really trying to promote untapped voices in genre.” Films with African American writers, directors and protagonist are few and far between, but Peele is aiming to do something about that. It really is a shame we don’t have more diversity in the genre. There are many stories

‘Get Out’ Is The First Of A Series Of Films From Writer-Director Jordan Peele

While comedian-turned-horror writer-director Jordan Peele’s genre hit ‘Get Out‘ is still burning up the box office, he’s already planning his next project. Fans will be happy to learn that ‘Get Out’ is only the beginning. The film is just the first of in series of five films he plans to make to examine what he refers to as “social demons”, according to the interview he had with Business Insider. I have four other social thrillers that I want to unveil in the next decade. The best and scariest monsters in the world are human beings and what are capable of especially when we get together. I’ve been working on these premises about these different social demons, these innately human monsters that are woven into the fabric of how we think and how we interact, and each one of my movies is going to be about a different one of these social demons.” The social statement Peele made with ‘Get Out’
