Fred Wilson (played to the scenery chewing ultimate by the late Charles Grodin), an executive douche-nozzle of the Petrox Oil Company, believes a mysterious and uncharted island, surrounded by a permanent bank of thick-ass fog (official meteorologist lingo), may be the source of a huge oil deposit, and sets sail with a full crew at his disposal. But alas, the crew is not all that’s aboard, as primate paleontologist Jack Prescott (a mega-laid back Jeff Bridges… yes, I know that’s can go without saying… ) has stowed away on the vessel, and he has all manner of historical accounts of the island they are heading to es no bueno… oh, and that fog mentioned up yonder may be caused by the breath of a giant creature. As if that weren’t enough in the uninvited guests department, the ship also picks up a castaway, an actress named Dwan (don’t ask, it’s fuckin’ stupid… oh and she’s played by the ever-awesome Jessica

Like many films these days, it looks like Godzilla vs. King Kong will reportedly be bypassing theaters and heading straight to streaming platforms. THR is reporting that Netflix is aiming to acquire the film, offering a staggering $200 million for the upcoming movie from Legendary Pictures. However, they aren’t the only ones after the property. But word is, Warner Bros. Media wants it to premiere exclusively on their HBO Max service. The epic next chapter in the cinematic Monsterverse pits two of the greatest icons in motion picture history against one another – the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong with humanity caught in the balance. Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Rebecca Hall, Lance Reddick, Kyle Chandler, Danai Gurira, Ziyi Zhang, and Julian Dennison star in Godzilla vs. Kong, directed by Adam Wingard, which is currently in post-production. ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ Gets A Rating

‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ officially has a rating! The upcoming ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ movie has been rated PG-13 “for intense sequences of creature violence/destruction and brief language.” This is the same rating as other movies within the Monsterverse (‘Godzilla’, ‘Kong: Skull Island’, and ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’) so this is no surprise. “In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.” Hopefully, now that there is a rating in place, we will get a trailer and we can get this titanic battle started!

‘Godzilla: King Of Monsters’ Star Says The Movie Is Something You’ll Never Forget

Godzilla: King of Monsters, from Trick ‘r Treat director Michael Daugherty, is set to arrive in theater in 2020. Co-written by Daugherty and Zach Shields, the film is the next installment of Legendary’s MonsterVerse and will set the stage for Godzilla’s battle with King Kong. King of Monsters will follow the heroic efforts of the Monarch agency, a crypto-zoological agency that handles gigantic monsters, including Godzilla who will face Rodan, Mothra, and the three-headed King Ghidorah. “When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.” Filming recently wrapped for the film which made it possible for actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. to tease the upcoming fight during a conversation with Collider. In the last scene between Godzilla and King Ghidorah, I promise you, you will never forget it, in your life,” the actor promised. “As a nerd, I am foaming at the mouth to get in the editing

King Kong Musical Heading To Broadway

Kong might be king of Skull Island, but what about Broadway? Fans of musical theater will have the chance to find out with a King Kong musical set to release in the fall of 2018. Development started all the way back in 2014, but a number of behind the scenes issues kept the big apes pipes shut. Written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and with composer Marius de Vries (La La Land) attached, Kong certainly has some A-list talent hanging onto it. But perhaps best of all, in the tradition of The Lion King and other animal heavy shows, Kong will be played brought to life with the wonders of practical effects, in this case a Giant Animatronic Puppet. Will King Kong live up to classic horror musicals like The Rocky Horror Show or Little Shop of Horrors? Only time will tell, but so far it has me pounding my chest in excitement.

New Kong: Skull Island Trailer Reveals Giant Beasts

The new trailer for ‘Kong: Skull Island’, directed by Michael Dougherty, is here and it’s incredible. We get our first look at just how massive Kong is, giant bugs and “skull crawlers”. This is the largest Kong ever seen and he’s pissed. In the trailer we also meet John C. Reilly’s character, the film’s comic relief. In the film a diverse team of explorers are brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the pacific – as beautiful as it is treacherous – unaware that they are crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong. Tom Hiddleston, Brice Larson, John Goodman, Samuel L. Jackson, Jason Mitchell, Tom Wilkinson, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz and Thomas Mann star. ‘Kong: Skull Island’ opens in theaters nationwide on March 10, 2017 from Warner Bros. and Legendary. The sequel, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ already has a release date, May 29, 2020.
