New ‘Halloween’ Trailer Is Shot Documentary Style

The new trailer for Halloween is shot as if it is from a crime documentary and we’re digging it. It’s fitting, seeing that the David Gordan Green-directed movie features a documentary crew working making a feature about the masked killer. “Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.” “A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way. In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including

The reason for it’s second delay, Dimension Films has lost the rights to the Halloween franchise. Miramax is currently eyeing the rights. Until someone purchases the rights the movie will be in limbo, if not discarded completely. Marcus Dunsten was to direct the film, based on the script penned by Patrick Melton, and had planned to start production in July. Malek Akkad, long term producer for the franchise and the son of the original Halloween’s producer Moustapha Akkad, told Daily Dead that the previous delay was for the good of the film. In the current Halloween Returns script the 18-year-old kid of one of Michael’s victims and the kid of a cop, obsessed with the murders, arrive at the prison along with their friends, where Michael is held on death
