Viral Twitter Ghost Story Dear David Getting A Feature Film

“My apartment is currently being haunted by the ghost of a dead child and he’s trying to kill me. That is how the viral tale of Buzzfeed writer Adam Ellis’ Twitter ghost story Dear David started back in August of 2017, which he still claims is a true story. I’ve never been interested in convincing anyone that ghosts are real–I just wanted to tell my story,” Ellis has stated. “If it was all fiction, I probably would’ve updated more than once every couple weeks.” The Twitter tale follows Ellis as he documents the alleged haunting of his apartment by a young boy with a dent in his head. Ellis has now announced that Dan Lin (Stephen King’s IT) is set to produce a feature film based on Ellis’ story. https://twitter.com/moby_dickhead/status/1004475290599518208 Mike Van Waes (The Crooked Man) is penning the script. BuzzFeed Studios’ Lauren Dolgan and Hieu Ho (Master Class) will produce alongside Lin and Jonathan Eirich (Death Note).

The rhyme was made frightening in The Conjuring 2 when the entity came to life. The fact that the Crooked Man was NOT CG is even more incredible (you can find out more here). Javier Botet’s portrayal of the long-limbed entity, with a grin made of pointed teeth, was absolutely terrifying. Back in May we reported that the latest spin-off of The Conjuring franchise, based on the Crooked Man, was in the works. Now, we can tell that the film has officially gotten the go-ahead for production to begin, THR says. New Line Cinema has tapped Mike Van Waes to pen the screenplay, based on James

New Line Remaking The Wizard Of Oz As A Horror Film

While ‘The Wizard of Oz’ has been adapted and remade several times, apparently Hollywood feels like it needs one more remake, as a horror film. New Line Cinema is currently developing a horror version, written by Mike Van Waes, based on L. Frank Baum’s literary classic, according to THR. While the world of Oz, filled with witches, flying monkeys, talking creatures and a twisted wizard, has always been a bit creepy in my opinion, it will be interesting to see it go full horror.
