Paramount’s ‘Gasp’ Explores The Horrors Of Online Dating

Lets face it, dating these days is scary. With more people turning to dating apps there are more opportunities for evil people to find victims, that is the premise behind Paramount’s recently acquired the pitch for the film ‘Gasp’, Deadline reports. What makes the film so scary? It’s based on a number of true stories of women falling victim to online predators using dating apps. “Gasp’ centers on “a female detective gone undercover online to catch a killer who is murdering women he meets on a specific popular dating app. She starts to fall for one of the suspects who has been cleared, only to discover that he may in fact be the killer.” Set to be penned by Mario Celays, ‘American Horror Story’s’ Jessica Sharzer will co-produce along with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Giggot.

World War Z 2 Is Dead (At Least For Now)

Following the removal of ‘Friday the 13th‘ from Paramount’s schedule, another film has been put on hold indefinitely, ‘World War Z‘. But that’s not much of a surprise. There has been no news about ‘WWZ 2’ in a long time. The original release date had been announced as June 9, 2017, but with that being only a few months away and with it not in filming, there was no way the could have been finished by that time. The film does not even have a director or cast yet, save for Brad Pitt reportedly returning for the sequel. Hopefully, everything will be worked out and the film will get back on track. But we will keep you posted. The first film follows Gerry Lane (Pitt), former United Nations employee, as he traverses the world in a race against time to stop the zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments threatening to destroy humanity.

Jason Won’t Be Back Any Time Soon – Friday The 13th Pulled From The Schedule

We are sorry to have to inform you all of this, but ‘Friday the 13th‘, one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, has been pulled from Paramount’s release schedule. The film, which we reported last week had hired Legacy Effects, was set to begin filming this Spring under the direction of Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners). Casting had already begun for the roles of young Jason and his father Elias Voorhees, but there is no word if that will continue or be put on hold as well. Deadline is reporting that ‘Mother’, from director Darren Aronosfky, will take the place of ‘Friday the 13th’ on the schedule. The site is saying that the reason for the halt in production is that Paramount is not happy with ‘Rings” Box Office results on its opening weekend. ‘Mother’, a drama starring Jennifer Lawrence, centers on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.

Paranormal Activity 5: The Ghost Dimension Coming To VOD This Month

Paranormal Activity 5: The Ghost Dimension is the second film, the first being Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, to take part in Paramount’s early release experiment. What does the experiment mean for horror fans? Normally there is a minimum of three months between a film’s theatrical release and its VOD/digital release. Paramount is testing to see how a shorter waiting period would affect their bottom line. This is a good thing. This could mean that in the future we will not have to wait, what feels like forever, to see a film we couldn’t make it to a theater to see. The December 15th VOD/digital release date for Paranormal Activity 5 comes just 53 days after the film’s debut in theaters. On January 12th you will be able to watch the film in the comfort of your own home, on Netflix. The film follows a new family, the Fleeges. Ryan, the father, is played by Chris J. Murray. Brit
