Blu-ray Review: Bliss (2019)

Dezzy (Dora Madison) is havin’ a bitch of a go what she is. Between painting and back due rent, D-dawg is not livin’ her best fucking life, that’s for sure… but she remains a hard mother fucker through it all. Hey, you know what may help with all that? Getting addicted to a mega-cocaine called Bliss offered to our heroine by her dealer Hadrian (Graham Skipper),which sends her into a spiral of lasciviousness that eventually puts her in the company of old scene friends that are of the fang bang way. This soon leads her into a sex-filled, blood-soaked pseudo-vampiric living nightmare… but hey, her painting skills improve, so win/win? I have to tell you lot, writer/director Joe Begos (The Mind’s Eye) goes balls deep into psychotronic insanity with Bliss. Everything from color choices to camera angles to score collide to make the viewer feel like they’ve embarked on one hell of a chemically-induced journey… and just when that settles

An Artist Develops A Lust For Blood In The ‘Bliss’ Trailer

This September a brilliant artist, desperate to reignite her creativity, unknowingly stumbles upon something dark, not only finding inspiration but also a new bloodlust, in director Joe Begos (Almost Human, The Mind’s Eye) Bliss. “Known for her dark and macabre artwork, painter Dezzy Donahue (Dora Madison) is in a professional rut. Unable to finish her newest commissioned work, Dezzy looks to reignite her creative juices by letting loose-as in, taking every drug insight and tearing through raucous house parties and heavy metal bars. After a few nights spent with her debauchery-loving friends Courtney (Tru Collins) and Ronnie (Rhys Wakefield), though, Dezzy notices changes within herself. On the positive side, she’s finally painting again, but she’s also developing a strange desire for blood. As someone who has never been able to control her vices in the first place, Dezzy is quickly and violently consumed by this bloodlust.” Bliss arrives in theaters and on digital on September 27, 2019, from Dark Sky

Movie Review: The Grand Son (2018)

Tod (Rhys Wakefield…who we interviewed right here) and his sister Lani (Fabianne Therese) live a life of decadent excess high in the Hollywood hills within the walls of their grandmother Judy’s (an aging starlet who know hosts a home shopping show) mansion. Things are all wine and roses until ol’ Tod (accidentally?) busts a cap in Judy’s ass making her as dead as her movie career. With Judy gone, how can the siblings charmed lives continue on as before? Well Tod is as good at hatching schemes as he is at murdering his relatives, so he seduces the producer of the shopping show and sets Lani up as the host in the wake of Judy’s “absence”…which actually improves the ratings, ‘cuz Lani is hot as the Devil’s balls and all. Things of course escalate, and our “heroes” must go further and further to maintain their ruse! The Grand Son is a great example of a slow burn thriller done right!

‘The Purge’ Star Rhys Wakefield Talks Psychopaths & New Projects In An Interview

One of the most memorable scenes from The Purge franchise stars Rhys Wakefield as that well-dressed young killer who gave the family in the first film an ultimatum as he grinned like the Chesire cat. That smile is hard to forget. Rhys has starred in many other roles than just in The Purge. He went diving in Sanctum, he went to school in After the Dark, co-starred in Echoes of War, appeared alongside Terrence Howard in Cardboard Boxer, and played the role of Lucas on the long-running series “Home and Away“. Now, he gearing up to make his directorial debut. Rhys sat down with me to talk about it and his role in The Purge as well as the soon to be released thriller The Grand Son (aka American Pets). The Grand Son follows Tod (Wakefield), a twisted young man, whose Hollywood lifestyle is put in jeopardy when he makes a fatal error. Horror Fuel: “Did you enjoy getting in
