Does The New ALIEN: COVENANT Featurette Confirm A Connection To Ripley

We have all heard the rumor that Ripley is somehow tied to Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant. Today, Fox released a new featurette for Covenant, and unless it’s just wishful thinking, the voice of the computer system, known as MU/TH/UR 6000 aka “Mother”, sounds very familiar. If we are right, the voice belongs to none other Sigourney Weaver, known for playing the iconic role of Ripley in Alien and Aliens. So, how could that be? Bloody-Disgusting points out that Prometheus took place in 2093, fast forward 10 years to when Covenant is set, followed by Alien, which was set in 2122. Here’s where things get interesting, Katherine Waterston plays the new role of Daniels in Alien: Covenant and rumor is, Daniels is actually Ripley’s mother. Ridley Scott kind of shot down the rumor (but not really). So, is it possible? Yes it is. According to IMDb, Weaver is still reprising her role as Ellen Ripley in the still untitled Alien project

New Nightmarish Poster Revealed For ALIEN: COVENANT

Well hello my Little Monsters. As you may have just seen above, a deliciously dark and scary new poster for Alien: Covenant has just been released. This image seems to be a xenomorph depiction of “The Gates of Hell” by Rodin. If you are not familiar with it, Google it, because it’s an astounding sight to behold. Perhaps this image is meant to signify the “hell” that will rain down upon the characters in this prequel to Scott’s 1979 film Alien. I don’t know about any of you, but with each trailer, image or poster that gets released for this movie, I start fiending like crazy. AND WE ARE STILL ALMOST TWO LONG MONTHS AWAY FROM THE RELEASE DATE! Whew…sorry about that, but I am seriously psyched to see this new installment of the Alien franchise. I think I’m beginning to understand how Renton from Trainspotting felt when he was trying yo kick the skag. Maybe that’s overstating it, but

Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant Follow Up Now Has A Title

Yes my Little Monsters, as I have previously reported, Ridley Scott is planning ahead and already has a follow up to Alien: Covenant on deck and ready to begin shooting next year. Scott’s Alien franchise prequel trilogy would be rounded out with the inclusion of Alien: Awakening. But it appears that the order of the film trilogy’s chronology is different than fans would have anticipated. Scott spoke with Fandango recently and stated, “It will go Prometheus, Awakening, Covenant“, thus making this next possible film in the series both a prequel AND a sequel. Scott’s motivation for this next film likely mirrored the feelings of Prometheus fans when he expressed, “I’d love to explore where the hell [Dr. Shaw] goes next and what does she do when she gets there, because if it is paradise, paradise can not be what you think it is. Paradise has a connotation of being extremely sinister and ominous … I know where it’s going. I

Alien: Covenant Sequel? Ridley Scott Is Ready If And When Fox Is.

So here we are, my Little Monsters, just a little over two not short enough months away from Ridley Scott’s newest Alien franchise installment, Alien: Covenant. This film furthers the story-line that began with Scott’s 2012 film Prometheus. It was originally intended that Prometheus would in effect act as a prequel to Scott’s 1979 film, Alien. but as most fans will attest, while the film answered many questions it asked a hell of a lot more that now need to be answered – enter Alien: Covenant. Now Scott gets the chance to begin tying up loose ends left to unravel by the previous screenwriters on Prometheus. From the trailers that have been released thus far it looks like Scott is bringing back the essence of his 1979 classic. In an interview with the Sidney Morning Herald, Michael Fassbender stated, “They’ve gone back to the Alien mood in terms of the thriller-horror aspect of it but we have the scale of
