Movie Review: Tone-Deaf

Olive (Amanda Crew) has had a rough week, she’s been fired and she’s gone through a breakup. When her friends urge her to get out of the city she books a beautiful old house for the weekend not knowing that the home’s owner (Robert Patrick) is a killer and he’s just added her to his bucket list. Robert Patrick stars as Harvey, a regular joe, who has gotten to a point in his life where he’s checking off his bucket list. He’s traveled the world, he’s had a great love, raised a family, and now there’s just one thing left to do that he has never done, kill someone. Writer-director Richard Bates Jr. takes us on a strange trip in Tone-Deaf. Crew’s Olive is the embodiment of all things Millenial, which happens to be the one thing Harvey hates more than anything. In fact, in my opinion, the whole film is about the tension felt between Millenials and Baby Boomers.

Robert Patrick Spills Blood In The ‘Tone-Deaf’ Trailer

Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgement Day) and Amanda Crew (“Silicon Valley,” The Age of Adaline), star in the bloody horror-flick Tone-Deaf, from writer-director Richard Bates Jr. After losing her job and imploding her latest dysfunctional relationship, Olive (Amanda Crew) flees the city for the weekend, escaping to the countryside for some peace and self-reflection. She rents an ornate country house from an eccentric widower named Harvey (Robert Patrick). Soon two generations collide with terrifying results as Olive awakens Harvey’s homicidal tendencies and is plunged into a blood-soaked fight for her life. More than your average slasher film, Tone-Deaf provides a dark critique of the bizarre cultural and political climate that currently exists. Blu-ray Review: Double Dragon (1994)

In the amazing future year 2007, the villainous businessman/shadow monster Koga Shuko (Robert Patrick, who looks absolutely preposterous and gobbles up scenery like he’s hitting the mac n’ cheese trough at the local Golden Corral) lords over the city of New Angeles. Not for nothing, he has also come in possession of half of a mystical medallion (called the Double Dragon) that when made whole grants it’s owner some of those mystic powers the kids are so into these days. Well, humanity can breathe easy as the other half is in the possession of Satori (Julia Nickson) and her two adopted sons Billy and Jimmy Lee (Scott Wolf and Mark Dacascos)…underground karate tournament fighters and favorite targets for Bo Abobo (Nils Allen Stewart…who seems to be having the time of his life in the role…as does everyone in this thing honestly), leader of the Mohawk Gang and frequent steroid abuser. Soon Shuko kills Satori, tuns Abobo into an outrageous monster,
