Game Of Thrones Actress Join Steven Spielberg’s Haunted

Back in March we reported that 28 Weeks Later’s Juan Carlos Fresnadillo had signed on to direct Haunted, a passion project by Steven Spielberg. Game of Thrones and Last Witch Hunter actress Rose Leslie (above) joins Annabelle’s Alfre Woodard (below) as the first cast members for this dark ghost tale from Amblin Entertainment. The script, penned by Chad and Carey Hayes (The Conjuring), for Haunted is inspired by the 1898 gothic novella Turn of the Screw written by Henry James. “The novella’s anonymous narrator is a young woman, a parson’s daughter, who is engaged as governess to two seemingly innocent children at a remote English country house. What initially seems a idyllic soon turns nightmarish, as she becomes convinced that the children are consorting with a pair of malevolent spirits. These are the ghosts of former employees at Bly: a valet and a previous governess. In life, scandalously, the two of them had been discharged as illicit lovers, and their

Adam Wingard’s The Woods Is Actually A Blair Witch Sequel !

One of the biggest stories to come out of this weekend’s San Diego Comic Con is that Lionsgate has pulled a fast one, sneaky bastards. Adam Wingard’s The Woods is actually a sequel to Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez’s 1999’s hit The Blair Witch Project. Back in April we reported that another sequel was in the works, but last night news came that the sequel has been here all long, under the title The Woods, and it has a new name, Blair Witch. I have no idea how they kept this quiet for so long (3 years). But with such a great director and a list of heavy hitters producing, we knew the film was going to big from the start. Adam Wingard has a list of great films on his resume, including You’re Next, The Guest, and V/H/S and V/H/S 2. Blair Witch was penned by Simon Barrett, Wingard’s long time collaborator. Those “heavy hitters” I was referring to,

Another Blair Witch Movie Is Now In Production

The 1999 underdog hit ‘The Blair Witch Project’ broke new ground in the horror genre and brought “found footage” into the light. After one sequel and several documentaries, one documentary will be coming out later this year, ‘The Blair Witch Project’ still stands as a ground breaking film and now there is about to be a new addition to the franchise. Bloody-Disgusting announced that according to an insider at Lionsgate, a new movie is already in production. The news won’t be a shock to Eduardo Sanches, the co-director of the original ‘The Blair Witch Project’. He made a statement in January that another sequel is “inevitable”. The rumor is Jessica Wu (You’re Next), Keith Cadler, Roy Lee (Poltergeist), and Steven Schneider (Inssidious) will be producing the new movie. There is a chance that the movie the insider referred to is the movie ‘The Woods’, written by Simon Barrett. ‘The Woods’ follows a group of collage students who are camping in
