Production Kicks Off On Jen And Sylvia Soska’s ‘Rabid’ Remake

Canadian production company Back 40 Pictures announced earlier today the production has begun on Jen and Sylvia Soska‘s remake of Rabid. Written and directed by the acting/writing/directing duo, who were behind Dead Hooker in a Trunk and the bloody fabulous American Mary, the film stars Laura Vandervoort (Jigsaw, BITTEN) as “Rose” a demure seamstress who goes through a radical transformation after electing for plastic surgery following a disfiguring accident. Ben Hollingsworth (CODE BLACK) is “Brad” a fashion photographer. Rabid is a remake of the classic David Cronenberg 1977 horror feature film which was executive produced by Ivan Reitman. Rabid also stars Hanneke Talbot (PLAYING DEAD) who portrays Rose’s best friend Chelsea and Mackenzie Gray (LEGION, RIVERDALE) as an arrogant fashion designer “Gunter”. ‘American Mary’ Comes To Blu-ray And DVD

Jen and Sylvia Soska’s beautifully twisted 2012 film American Mary has just arrived on Blu-ray and DVD. Both written and directed by the “Twisted Twins” (the Soskas), the film stars Katherine Isabelle as Mary, a medical student who lives in the world of underground surgeries which ends up leaving more marks on her more than her ‘freakish’ clients. Tristan Risk, Antonio Cupo, David Lovgren, Paula Lindberg, Clay St. Thomas, and John Emmet Tracy co-star. The Soskas also make an appearance in the film. You can pick up your copy of American Mary now. If you enjoy the film be sure to check out the Soska’s other films including See No Evil 2, Vendetta, and Dead Hooker in a Trunk. The Soska Sisters Give Insight Into Their Remake Of Rabid

Back in February of last year we reported that the Soska sisters, Jen and Sylvia, will be directing the remake of David Cronenberg’s 1977 film Rabid. There hasn’t been any news since, until now. The writing-directing sister team, also known as the “Twisted Twins”, let a lit info slip about their approach to the making the film while talking to The Horror Channel. We are very honored to have been the team chosen to take on the remake of Cronenberg’s Rabid. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of remakes but that’s if they don’t have anything new to bring to the story. We have a unique perspective just because of who we are to tell the story from Rose’s eyes as well as make a commentary on the increasingly rabid world that we live in. The Axe Will Swing This Season On Hellevator – New Promo

Last year we witnessed the Soska sister, Jen and Sylvia, play twisted games with the contestants of GSN’s series ‘Hellevator’, from producer Jason Blum (The Purge,Insidious). The second season is gearing up to premiere this October and will explore the 7 Deadly Sins: Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, Greed, Envy, and Pride. The Action-Horror Film Blackburn Coming To DVD This August

Starring Jen and Sylvia Soska, the action-packed horror film Blackburn will arrive on DVD this August, from 3Brane Entertainment. Directed by Lauro Chartrand and written by Natastasha Baron, Blackburn follows a a group of friends stranded in a ghost town who must fight to survive. A Group Of Friends Fight To Survive The Night In ‘Blackburn’

Production company 3B has announced that Archstone Distribution has acquired the rights to the action-packed horror film Blackburn, under their genre arm, Tombstone Distribution. Blackburn stars an experienced cast, including Ken Kirzinger (Freddy vs. Jason), Brad Loree (Halloween: Resurrection), Lochlyn Munro (Assault on Wall Street) and Emilie Ullerup (A Little Bit Zombie), Disney’s Calum Worthy ( Austin and Ally), Zach Peledeau, Alexander Calvert and Wolf Cop’s Sarah Lind. The Soska Sisters, Jen and Sylvia Soska, writers, directors and the hosts of GSN’s Hellevator, will also be appearing in the film. The film was written by Nastasha Baron and directed by Lauro Chatrand (Born to Raise Hell). Chartrand had this to say about the film’s cast and crew: “Blackburn has one of the strongest cast and crews that I’ve seen and I’ve worked on dozens and dozens of productions over the past 25 years. Contestants Face The “Triplets” On This Week’s Episode Of Hellevator
