For a while there we were thinking that The CW had staked all its vampire series with “The Vampire Diaries” over and “The Originals” ending this season, but good news came via Variety that the spin-off of “The Originals” is still alive. According to the site, “The Vampire Diaries'” Matt Davis and “The Originals” actress Danielle Rose Russel have joined the show as Alaric Saltzman and Hope Michaelson. The two will star along with Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, and Aria Shahghasemi. The spin-off is still in development and has yet to be ordered to series by The CW, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. The date for the mid-season premiere of Riverdale, the new drama series based on the Archie comic books, has been set for Jan. 26th 2017 at 9PM ET. What does this mean for Supernatural fans, who are used to tuning in during this time slot? Nothing too drastic, the adventures of Sam and Dean will be shown one hour earlier in an 8 PM ET slot on Thursdays. This also means that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be relocating to a 9 PM ET slot on Tuesdays, which will begin on Jan. 24th and will run until the season finale on March 28th. On April 4th, the season premiere of iZombie will take over the 9 PM ET Tuesday slot, beginning with a special two hour episode that will start an hour earlier at 8 PM ET. No Tomorrow may prove to be an appropriate title, as the season (and possibly series) finale will air Tuesday, Jan. 17th at 9

Now, we have learned via The Wrap that The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev is currently in talks with Sony Pictures to join the reboot’s cast, which already includes Ellen Page (Inception) and Diego Luna (Elysium). Dobrev currently plays several roles on The Vampire Diaries including Elena Gilbert, a vampire and the doppelganger of Katherine Pierce, a centuries old vampire. Yes, it gets a bit confusing, especially when they are both in an episode. There is one thing, besides the same appearance, that both characters have in common, they have both loved brothers Damon ( Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley). Neils Arden Oplev (Mr. Robot) is set to direct from the script penned by Ben Ripley (Source Code) with Laurence Mark and Michael Douglas producing. Filming for Flatliners is slated to begin this July. Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon,
