She’s Back! Lindsay Lohan Returns With Werewolves

It’s been a while, but Hollywood’s favorite mean girl will soon return to the big screen in a new crime horror film, The Shadow Within. This will be Lohan’s first film since starring in the 2013 film The Canyons. The Shadow Within will be about a private detective (presumably played by Lohan) who’s trying to solve the murder of her uncle while keeping it a secret that she’s a descendant of werewolves. More information about the film is sparse and the film’s IMDB page seems to add to the confusion. What does not help is that there’s a movie with the same name that came out in 2007, mysteriously enough Lohan herself posted on Instagram a teaser poster for the film back in December but since has been removed. The fate of the picture is unknown whether or not it will howl its way to the big screen or whimper with its tail between its legs straight to DVD, all

Davide Melini Announces: “Italian Giallo is Ready to Make its Return”

Davide Melini (Lions, Penny Dreadful, Into the Badlands) is thrilled to announce his upcoming short film Deep Shock. Starring Muireann Bird, Francesc Pagès, George Bracebridge, Lorna Larkin, Erica Prior, Luis Fernández de Eribe. Melini’s hope with this new film is to pay tribute to the Italian film genre called “giallo” (thrilling) and the title of this project is inspired by the most famous horror movies of two of the most important Italian directors: Dario Argento (“Deep Red”) and Mario Bava (“Shock”).Muireann Bird, Francesc Pagès, George Bracebridge, Lorna Larkin, Erica Prior, Luis Fernández de Eribe Along with the announcement of this thrilling new film, Melini has released a promotional teaser that certainly has my attention. It is a perfect trailer, not giving too much away, but allowing us to really feel the emotion and atmosphere of this film. Produced by an absolute all-star team of producers, “Italian Giallo is ready to make its return!”

Billy Milligan…And 24 Others – The True Story That Inspired “Split”

Night Shyamalan movies have frankly been a little flat lately. He had some great films with Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and a smattering of others (Check out his 2010 film Devil) but for the most part in his recent history it has been flub after flub. However, I am extremely intrigued and interested in his new movie Split which is about a man navigating through a life of 23 multiple personalities. This film is loosely based on the life of William (Billy) Stanley Milligan who was also an influence for the 1996 thriller Primal Fear. Mulligan is the first person to be acquitted of multiple major crimes by claiming that his other personalities – and therefore, other people – committed the crimes. Billy Milligan was born in 1955 in Ohio to Dorothy Milligan and Johnny Morrison. The unwed couple had three children and did not create a good environment for their little family. Johnny drank a lot, was in gambling debt,

The Little Mermaid – Pain, Love, and Death

Years ago, when I was in school, the entirety of students were shuffled into the gym for a long-forgotten reason, sat down on the hard, wooden floor and “The Little Mermaid” was projected for us all to watch. I think that my favorite part of this Disney version was the singing seagull who walloped through the hit song “Kiss the Girl” with guttural la-la-las until he was physically silenced by the little red crab. I loved the juxtaposition of a happy little tune on a romantic date trying to set the mood for some smooching and this seagull is bellowing in the background just trying to fit in…why is he the only animal in the whole Disney-oceanic world who can’t sing? In this well-known version of this cartoon the foul-singing fowl is painful on the ears, but the original story is filled to the brim with pain and misery. Hans Christian Anderson wrote a tale of a young mermaid who
