Blu-Ray Review: “Z” Scores A 5/5 !

I reviewed Shudder’s Z back in May, so of course, I was excited to get my hands on the Blu-ray a couple of days ago. As I sat down to watch it with a bag of popcorn, I couldn’t help but wonder if the movie would stand up to my original impression and the 5/5 score I gave it. I was wrong to even question it. It turns out, the Blu-ray is even better. The picture is crisp and the sound is great. The story itself is fresh, clever, and absolutely unnerving. A lot of people had an imaginary friend as a kid. Imagine if that friend came back when you were an adult and it is hell-bent on destroying your life by using your innocent child. That’s the premise of Z. The movie follows Elizabeth (Keegan Connor Tracy), a mother whose 8-year-old son has a new playmate, an invisible friend named Z. As her son’s behavior becomes more menacing

Movie Review: ‘Z’ Is The Horror Movie Fans Deserve

Let’s face it when a movie gets a lot of hype ahead of its release we usually find ourselves left disappointed. That is not the case with writer-director Brandon Christenson and co-writer Colin Minihan’s spooky AF film Z. I was not prepared for this frightening flick. I was expecting a decent movie, but Z is so much more. I’ve been a horror fan for so long that I’ve become pretty jaded, but Z reminded me of why I fell in love with the horror genre in the first place. As horror fans, we are always in search of the next high, that moment when we feel like our heart will jump out of our chest, the times when we flinch in fear and are left with thoughts of a story swimming around in our heads. Z does that. The film follows a family whose son has become dangerous. He blames everything on his invisible friend Z, but it doesn’t take

This May, An Imaginary Friend Becomes A Supernatural Nightmare In Shudder’s ‘Z’

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, has announced that it has acquired all rights in its territories to Z, the latest horror film from Still/Born director Brandon Christensen. The film stars Keegan Connor Tracy (Bates Motel), Sean Rogerson (Grave Encounters), Jett Klyne (The Boy), Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries), and Stephen McHattie (Pontypool). Z centers on Elizabeth, a young mother who begins to fear her introverted son’s imaginary friend, Z, may be terrifyingly real. Brandon’s Still/Born was a tense, frightening film grounded in a tragic story that Shudder members quickly embraced and turned into a hit. We jumped at the chance to work with him again on Z, which were excited to debut next month,” said Craig Engler, Shudder’s General Manager. When Still/Born premiered on Shudder on Mother’s Day in 2018, it was clear that they understood what the film was going for and allowed it to shine,” said Christensen. “With Z, we once
