The reboot of the 1990 miniseries ‘IT’, based on the Stephen King novel by the same name, is finally entering the pre-production phase of filming. After a five year wait, ‘IT’ will begin filming this June in New York. The new version of ‘IT’ will be divided into two films and possibly a trilogy by director Cary Fukunaga. Writers Seth Grahame Smith, David Kajganich and Chase Palmer wrote the script for the new ‘IT’.

The biggest delay in filming has been trying to find a new Pennywise who can match Tim Curry’s performance as the killer clown (if that’s even possible). There is no word yet who has been cast as the new Pennywise or who else will star in ‘IT’.
‘It’ follows the story of a group of adults who have returned to their home town, where they were tormented as children by bullies and by visions of a killer clown named Pennywise. The seven kids were known as the “Losers Club”, now the club has reunited and must face their past and Pennywise, head on. The original cast includes Dennis Christopher (Django Unchained), Richard Masur (The Thing), Tim Reid (Zorro), Brandon Crane (Skal), Richard Thomas (To Save the Children), John Ritter (Sling Blade), Annette O’Toole (Smallville), Jonathan Brandis (Fall Into Darkness), and Seth Green as Richie, plus many more talented actors.
Hopefully we will see ‘IT’ released some time in 2016.
