During an interview for the September issue of Total Film Magazine, with director Ridley Scott the statement was issued “He begins shooting Prometheus 2 in January.”.
‘Prometheus’ (2012) was part of the world that began with Scott’s brilliant 1979 film ‘Alien’. ‘Prometheus’ was not a sequel or prequel to ‘Alien’, but more of an expansion on the universe. In the film a group of scientists travel to a new world, following the clues that the once great civilization, who called the planet home, may be the linked to the origin of the human race.
‘Prometheus 2’ in now in early pre-production. The word is, the script is still a work in progress, so it could be a while before we can expect to see the film in theaters. The good news is both Noomi Rapace (Elizabeth Shaw) and Michael Fassbender (David) will be returning to their roles.
