THR has reported that actress Frances O’Connor has joined the cast and will star along side Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. O’Conner will be playing the role of the mother in the film. O’Connor has stared in such movie as 2014’s ‘Mercy’, ‘A.I.’ and the series ‘The Missing’.
Wilson and Farmiga will be returning to their roles as the famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who carried out many real paranormal and supernatural investigations.’The Conjuring 2′, like the first film, is based on the true experiences of the Warrens. The Endfield incident that ‘The Conjuring 2’ is supposedly based upon took place in the 1970’s in England, when a single mother and her children were plagued by paranormal activity. IMDb has the title listed as ‘The Conjuring 2: The Endfield Poltergeist’ but no synopsis has been listed and the title has not been confirmed.
Director James Wan will also be returning for the follow up to the 2013 paranormal hit. Wan penned the script for ‘The Conjuring 2’ with Carey and Chad Hayes, who also wrote the script for first film. ‘The Conjuring 2’ will begin production later this month and is set to be released on June 10, 2016.
