‘Ghostbusters’ is popular these days, not only is there the female driven version already filming, there is now an animated movie being made. Sony Pictures has confirmed that there is an animated ‘Ghostbusters’ movie in the works, according to Variety. Ivan Reitman will be producing the movie through his company Montecito Picture Company. No writer or director are attached yet and there is no word yet what characters will be featured.
‘Ghostbusters’ has already had one animated series, back in the ’80s that featured the original film’s characters. There are no details yet on what characters will be featured or what the plot will be in the animated movie.
The female driven Ghostbusters, starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Strong, Cecily Strong and Chris Hemsworth, also has cameos by four of the original cast, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Michael Kenneth Williams and Sigourney Weaver.
