2016 is going to be a great year for horror. There are so many movies I’m looking forward to that I found it difficult to make this list, however, I narrowed it down and these are the top 10 horror movies I can’t wait to see in 2016.



10. Rings (April 1)

Samara is back in this sequel that picks up 13 years after the original American version. The killer tape is back in circulation.

9.Leatherface (TBA)

In the film teenager Jackson / Leatherface escapes a mental hospital along with three other inmates. During the breakout they kidnap a young nurse and take her on road trip from Hell. During their run for freedom they are pursued by a Texas Ranger, who is just as crazy as they are. The Texas Ranger is Hell bent on getting revenge.

8.The 5th Wave (Jan 15th)

In The 5th Wave a deadly alien invasion begins on Earth. With each wave the attack worsens and body count rises. Cassie (Moretz) is desperate to find her little brother after they are separated during one of the waves, before it’s too late.

7.The Boy (Jan 22)

The film Stars The Walking Dead‘s Lauren Cohan as Greta, a nanny, hired to care for a couple’s son. After being hired she learns that she will actually be caring for a life-sized doll that the couple is using to cope with the loss of their eight-year-old son who has passed away. After Greta violates several of the rules the couple has issued, she discovers that the doll is unlike any other, it may actually be alive.

6.Rob Zombie’s 31 (Jan 23rd)

31 follows a group of five carnival workers, kidnapped just before Halloween. The group is held in a compound known as “Murder World”. If they can survive for twelve hours against a group of psychos dressed as twisted clowns, they will be set free. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Tracy Walter, Poncho Moler, Jane Carr, Lew Temple, Ginger Lynn, Daniel Roebauck, E.G. Daily, David Ury, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Judy Geeson, Torsten Voges, Bari Suzuki, Richard Brake, Devin Sidell and Malcolm McDowell.

5.Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Feb 5th)

In the fashion of Jane Austin’s classic tale a zombie outbreak has plagued the area. Relationships, made complex by the difference of their social classes in 19th century England, are put to the test as the undead rise.

4.Independence Day 2: Resurgence (Summer)

In the sequel to 1996’s Independence Day, the nations of Earth, using the alien’s technology, have built a defense system knowing that one day the aliens would return, but nothing has prepared them for the fight ahead.

3.The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist (June 10th)

In the sequel to 2013’s The Conjuring, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be reprising their roles as the famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The film will explore both the Enfield and  Amityville cases.

2.The Forest (Jan 8th)

Sara (Dormer), travels Japan to search for her sister who has disappeared into the “Suicide Forest”.  With Aiden (Kinney) as her guide they enter the forest, after being warned no matter what, they must “…not leave the path.” Sara will have to face the tormented souls who call the forest home if she wants to save her sister and herself, or is it already to late?




1.The Witch (Feb 26th)


The film, set in the 1630’s, takes place in New England. A farmer has been cast out of a colonial plantation, along with his family. They are forced to move to a remote piece of land bordered by a forest, rumored to be the home of witches and dark magic. Soon, strange things begin to occur, animals act oddly and crops wilt. A child disappears, only to return possessed. As things worsen, everyone begins to accuse the teenage daughter of being the source of the trouble. As the family’s situation continues to worsen, everyone finds their faith, strength and family bonds tested.
