Hardcore Henry, the first-person action film from director Ilya Naishuller, made quite a wave at the Toronto International Film Festival. STX won the bidding war over Hardcore Henry and is now set to release the film in theaters on April 8th.
Henry has just been brought back from the dead by his wife (Haley Bennett), but remembers nothing. Moments later he’s being shot at and his wife kidnapped. A powerful warlord by the name of Akan (Danila Kozlovsky) has her, he also has an army of mercenaries and plan for world domination. Everyone wants to take Henry down, except for a mysterious man named Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). If Henry can take down Akan and rescue his wife, before time runs out, he might just be able to uncover who he really is.
