Warner Bros. has announced that a release date has finally been set for their remake of Stephen King’s IT. Filming is set to begin in Toronto and will run from June 27th to September 6th. After years of rumors and problems it seems this time the first installment of IT, penned by Gary Doberman, is actually moving forward with a second IT film featuring the same characters (as adults) coming later. IT is scheduled to open in theaters on September 8, 2017.
IT is very close to the source material in one way but very different if you look at it as a literary piece of work.” Producer Roy Lee says. “We’re taking it and making the movie from the point of view of the kids, and then making another movie from the point of view of the adults that could potentially then be cut together like the novel. But it’s gonna be a really fun way of making this movie.”
