Sony Screen Gems’ thriller The Shallows, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and penned by Tony Jaswinski, was set to premiere on June 24, 2016. Now, the shark film will be treading water until its new theatrical release date on June 29th.
Blake Liveley stars as Nancy, a young woman surfing in the waters off of a secluded beach. Nancy comes face-to-face with the ocean’s ultimate killing machine, a Great White. After she is attacked by the huge predator she finds refuge on an islet. The shark, still circling, is the only thing standing in her way of making it back to shore and getting help.
