The X-Files revival not only rekindled the love from old fans, but created new ones. When the series ended it left fans wanting, begging, for more. The bad news is, Fox has already set it’s lineup for next season, and The X-Files is not on the list. However, the good news is, according to Entertainment Weekly , Fox is hoping to add a new season of The X-files to their Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 schedule.
During a conference call, Fox chairman and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden told reporters that everyone involved wants to do another installment of the series. The trick is getting David Ducovny and Gillian Anderson’s schedules in-sink.
After the revival’s finale, the series’ creator Chris Carter to Entertainment Weekly “It was suggested that there’s an appetite for more.” When asked about another season he said “When that will be, I have no idea. I wasn’t trying to set up a movie [with this finale], just an ongoing story.”
We are ecstatic that we will get another season of Scully and Mulder investigating The X-Files! We will update you when we know more, in the mean time, keep believing. “The truth is out there,” and we will deliver it.
