Last week the horror world was shocked to learn that Fangoria had fired Editor-in-Chief Michael Gingold after a successful 28-year-career. The company’s reason, they want to bring new blood into leadership of the magazine, according to sources. A legion of horror directors, stars and others in the industry took to social media in a huge showing of support and respect for Gingold.
Today, SCREAM MAGAZINE announced via social media (both Twitter and Facebook) that they have brought Gingold on board.
.
When I spoke SCREAM MAGAZINE, they had the following to say :
We’re thrilled to welcome Mike Gingold to SCREAM Towers,” SCREAM editor Rich Cooper said. “I have always enjoyed reading Mike’s work, he has such a passion and talent when it comes to writing about horror. Mike is a very well respected (and rightly so) within the worldwide horror community and we are very much looking forward to working with him on both the print and digital aspect of the magazine, and making sure his writing continues to be enjoyed by thousands of genre fans worldwide.”
Michael Gingold is equally enthused to be aboard the world’s number one horror magazine. “I’m very excited to join the SCREAM team,” Gingold says. “The magazine’s equal enthusiasm for both old and new horror matches my own, and I am looking forward to contributing coverage of both to future issues. I’d like to thank Rich for bringing me on board, and invite those who have enjoyed my past work to check out my SCREAM writing…”
Gingold is an incredible writer and SCREAM MAGAZINE is a fantastic publication. I look forward to seeing what the two do together. Follow SCREAM MAGAZINE on Twitter and Facebook and visit their website for exclusives, news, interviews and more from the horror genre.
If you notice on the cover of issue #37, they will be running a feature on Death House, directed by Harrison Smith. Be sure to visit Smith’s series on Cynema, hosted here on HorrorFuel.com.
