When we all hear about a new horror sequel we are mostly excited, however, when it is a sequel to an epic horror franchise and it features a new actor replacing an original villain, things get tense. That’s the case for the 10th installment of the Hellraiser franchise, Hellraiser: Judgement.
Makeup artist turned writer-director, Gary Tunnicliffe, cast Paul T. Taylor as Pinhead, the film’s ultimate villain originally played by Doug Bradley. Bradley’s absence has left many of the franchise’s fans with doubts about the sequel, and who could blame them. Bradley did make Pinhead the horror icon he is today. That being said, we’re trying to keep an open mind.
Today, the first clear image of Pinhead was released, via Bloody Disgusting. And I have to admit, Taylor looks great as Pinhead. Apparently, Pinhead won’t be the film’s main character, “The Auditor”, a new Cenobite, will be (pictured with Pinhead below). “The Stitch Twins”, “The Butcher” and “The Surgeon” are also all new Cenobites. Chatterer will also be featured.
In Hellraiser: Judgement Detectives Sean and David Carter are working a case featuring a gruesome serial killer that is terrorizing the city. They join forces with Detective Christine Egerton, and together they dig deeper into the horrors of the case, which may not be of this world.
Horror icon Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street) will co-star alongside Randy Wayne, Rheagan Wallace, Alexandra Harris, Damon Carney, Jay Dee, and others. Hellraiser: Judgement is now in post-production. A trailer should arrive soon. We will keep you posted.
