This morning it was announced that genre icon Kane Hodder has signed on as Witchula’s stunt coordinator and will play the role of Elias Lou Warren. Hodder has appeared in over 131 films and series and has played the iconic role of Jason Voorhees four times. Hodder plays the deformed killer in the Hatchet franchise. He also co-stars in the upcoming horror film Death House. Not only does Hodder have a long career in acting, he has an impressive career as a stunt man. You can find out more about Hodder by watching the documentary Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story.

Hodder will star alongside Bill Oberst Jr., who also co-stars in Death House. The cast also includes Eileen Dietz, who played the demon in horror classic The Exorcist, Marilyn Ghigliotti (Rogue Warrior), Ruth Reynolds (VooDoo), Destiny Soria (SomeFangs), Tade Adepoyibi (Murder in the First), Jeremy Tristan (American Grace), Anil Sankaramanchi (All for Amy) and Joseph Love (Alternate Realities).

This highly-anticipated film features witches and werewolves and vampires, oh my. In Witchula a group of college exchange students travel to a small, remote town situated on an exotic island; only to discover that they are being hunted down by a powerful witch-vampire “hybrid” that seeks something in their possession.

John Blythe, head of Film Regions International, will serve as producer with Jason Wright, best known for his UK commercial for Capcom’s  Resident Evil 6, with Kristy Richardson .

We are elated with the new partnership we have established with Silent Studios Productions. Unlike proir films that I have produced, this will be the biggest films in terms of budget and working directly in an international co-producing capacity that I have worked on. Producer John Blythe said. “Under the guidelines of the co-production relationship we have with Silent Studios Productions, will give us better clout as independent film producers here in the United States.

It’s been awhile since I’ve heard such a buzz about an indie horror film at this stage in its production. I think it’s safe to say that  is quickly climbing to the top of 2017’s must see list. Be sure to watch out for our updates on Witchula, which is set to premiere in 2017. Follow Witchula on Facebook anTwitter for exclusives and more.
