Horror series have become extremely popular over the past couple of years, and we’re grateful for that. One of the new series premiering this Fall is SyFy’s ‘Aftermath’ which puts a different spin on the apocalypse. It features serpent gods, mass disappearances, demonic possessions, skin walkers, natural disasters and more.
‘Aftermath’ centers on one family – Karen, played by Anne Heche (Dig) and James Tupper (Revenge) and their on-screen children, Dana (Julia Sarah Stone), Brianna (Taylor Hickson), and Matt (Levi Meaden). The Copelands battle for survival after civilization comes to an apocalyptic end triggered by massive storms, meteor strikes, and earthquakes, plagues, and the rise of supernatural creatures.
The series’ co-creators Glenn Davis (Alfred Hitchcock Presents) and William Laurin have worked together several times before, including on the series ‘Once a Thief’ and ‘The Pinkerstons’. The duo will executive produce as well as write for ‘Aftermath’ along with Denis McGrath. Jason Stone will produce with Adriana Maggs and McGrath. Two of the episodes in season one were directed by Kaare Andrews (Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero). The 13-episode series has several directors, including Andrews, Stone (The calling), James Marshall (Smallville), April Mullen (Killjoys) and Stefan Pleszczynski (Supernatural).SyFy has released a preview video that is over five minutes long. In it we are introduced to several members of the cast, including the real-life married couple Anne Heche and James Tupper. ‘Aftermath’ premieres on Tuesday, September 27, at 10/9c, after the premiere of ‘Channel Zero: Candle Cove‘, another series you don’t want to miss.
