There is something you should know about me, I’m a coffee snob and a caffeine addict. You won’t find a bag of Folgers in my house. There are two things I don’t do cheap, toilet paper and coffee. Both are necessities in my life, but we aren’t here to talk toilet paper.

Recently a friend of mine introduced me to a coffee shop and company by the name of ‘Coffee Shop of Horrors’. What could be better than two of my favorite things combined, horror and coffee? ‘Coffee Shop of Horrors’, owned by Roxana Stan, has a store/cafe located on Lakeside Drive in Montverde, Florida. They also a website with a ton of choices and something to please every type of caffeine connoisseur. Every bag and blend is inspired by a horror film, character or book. How cool is that?

I tried out their “Bubba the Redneck Werewolf’s Spiced Bourbon” and compared it side by side to a bag of Starbucks Blonde, the closest flavor I could find in my local grocery store. I have to say I was a bit shocked by the outcome of the taste test. The “Bubba” blend won by a landslide. “Bubba’s Spiced Bourbon”, based on Mitch Hyman’s film and comic ‘Bubba the Redneck Werewolf‘, was so much better than the Starbucks brand.

‘Bubba’s coffee’ is so smooth, unlike his character in the film. I could easily taste the “Spiced Bourbon” notes. But it was not over powering, unlike most flavored coffees. It is so well balanced, almost delicate, but still strong. The blend is one of the least bitter coffees I have ever tasted. Normally, I’m a heavy creamer and sugar user, but not with this coffee. It just didn’t need it. The light blend is absolutely fantastic. So, would I recommend the ‘Coffee Shop of Horrors’? Definitely! ‘Bubba the Redneck Werewolf’s Spiced Bourbon’ get’s 5 out of 5 stars! It’s my new favorite coffee.

I have a new flavor coming called “Tribal Screams”, named in honor of Owl Goingback‘s new book. I can not wait to try it out. I’ve also ordered a sample pack of ‘Coffee Shop of Horror’s’ other flavors. Something tells me, I will not be disappointed. I am ticked pink to finally find a source for amazing coffee at a reasonable price. I’ve heard that “you get what you pay for,” but sometimes you get so much more. Not a coffee drinker? No problem. The store also has its own line of teas, coco, candies and other merchandise. Their coffee lives up to their slogan, “Coffee so good it’s scary.”
