A new possession thriller is coming and it is unlike anything we have seen before. The official one-sheet has now arrived for ‘Incarnate’, a collaboration of horror heavyweight Blumhouse and WWE Studios. Brad Peyton (San Andreas) directed the film, written by Ronnie Christensen (Dark Tide).
In the film, Dr. Seth Ember, confined to a wheelchair after a horrific accident, is an “Incarnate” – gifted with the ability to delve into the minds of people possessed in order to exorcise their demons from the inside out. When the Vatican enlists him to exorcise a very troubled 11-year-old boy, Ember is shocked to discover that inside the boy is the same entity responsible for the death of his wife and child many years before. Now, with the boy’s life in his hands. Ember must find a way to destroy the demon before it takes the boy’s life and unleashes its terror upon the world.
Aaron Eckhart (London Has Fallen, The Dark Knight) stars alongside Carice van Houten (Repo Men), Catalina Sandino Moreno (Falling Skies), Keir O’Donnell (American Sniper), Gothum’s David Mazouz, and David Mazouz (The Darkness). WWE’s own Mark Henry will also be making a cameo in the film.
Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity) is producing under the Blumhouse banner. WWE Studios’ President, Michael Luisi will serve as executive producer along with Michael Seitzman, Couper Samuelson, Trevor Engelson, Charles Layton and Stuart Ford. Universal will be distributing. ‘Incarnate’ is set to have a limited U.S. release on December 2, 2016.
The trailer reveals just how powerful the possessed can be and how one man is taking a different approach to freeing those suffering from their demons.
